Outstanding performances from both Ekotto who was simply superb all night and Rafa VDV.
Loved the part when Rafa nutmegged Wellshite not once but twice and then laughed at him.

yeah he really schooled Wellshite twice in a couple of seconds.

Reminded me of Waddle making a real mug of a yound Giggs back when he was at Wednesday.

BAE - outstanding of course. Superb passing and composure throughout.
VDV - equally good, but it's probably more expected of him.
Sitting on the fence, so it's a tie for MOTM.

Honourable mentions also to Sandro, who was really strong and positive when he came on, and Thudd who seems seriously underrated in this thread. For a guy who's just back from injury, he really put himself about, won countless 50-50s, passed well (with a couple of lapses) and scored a stunning goal. What's not to like?

I will definitely watch the game again and only watch BAE. I obviously had my blinkers on or was not paying enough attention which is always possible.

And, as I say, a 6 is good. Please don't be too upset with me!

I'm sure 6 is good but if he was outstanding you can see why good doesn't really cut it.

Gomes 5.5 - Should've done better for their 2nd goal. The rating is a bit harsh but I am beginning to become frustrated with his mistakes. However great save from Van Persie in the second half.

Corluka 6.5 - Thought he did well. Great pass for VDV's goal. Unlucky to get substitued but you could tell he was struggling with Arsenal's pace.

Gallas 6 - Apart from his mistakes for their 1st and 3rd goal he was great. Shame about those mistakes, but he continued like a warrior despite his injuries.

Dawson 6 - Coped with everything Arsenal offered in the air, but did struggle with their pace. IMO he should not have let Walcott get through on goal for their goal.

Ekotto 8 - I thought he was terrific today. What a wonderful pass through to Lennon for our penalty.

VDV 9 - MOM, terrific. Two great goals, he was everywhere. Back to his best. Also he showed Wilshere who's the boss.

Modric 8.5- Terrific performance as per usual. Should've got a penalty and nearly scored. He showed why he is our MVP.

Hudd 7 - Great strike for the goal, but did have a couple of sloppy passes.

Bale 6.5 - Quiet. I just hope he is not out for long.

Pav 7 - Gave it his all. Shame he didn't get any chances.

Crouch 7 - As I thought, Arsenal struggled with his height.

SUBS

Kaboul 7- Great going forward, but wasn't too worried about his defensive duties.

Lennon 7 - Great run for winning our penalty. Did well.

Sandro 7- Solid performance when coming on and nearly score.d

VDV MotM for me, just, just edging out the immense Disco Benny who was once again amazing. In fact can I just say to the pricks who still don't rate him - go f*** yourselves. Just literally go and do that now. You're idiots.

Poor team selection by Harry IMO, Sandro needed to start in a 5 man midfield to match up with Arsenal and mark Fabregas, plus Huddlestone needed help in there.

Amazing game and great comeback, unlucky not to win it.

Oh and Wenger is a petulant cock.

Gomes 4 - shaky positioning was way off for nasri his shot werbt even in the corner and that offside rvp shot that he fucked clean up

Corluka 7 - thought he was class and sorry I don't by this he's too slow park he blazed Nasri at one point in the game and diary and clichy he looks slow because off running technique! I'd say he's quicker than pav, palacios and co. His assist for VDV was sensational!

Dawson 7 - good game should hace prevented the 2nd was too flat footed

Gallas 6 - some good some bad ridiculous for the 3rd

Ekotto 10 - brilliant amazing! Skills and crossing along with the passing was insane a playmaking left back lol

VDV 9 - Class.......love it when wilshire squared up to him he said who are you go away then he told wilshire YOU WATCH.....then when the moment came he merged him twice schooled him and smashed his big time Charlie attitude then had a chuckle to himself about it!

Hudd first half 4 just for the goal 2nd 8 was good the technique for the goal was insane never seen something hit so beautiful!

Modric 8 - showed them up at times when he dribbles reminds me of messi! Could have won it for us sadly fluffed it!

Bale 2 - Awful

Pavulychenko 1st 8/10 2nd 4/10 tired he is asthmatic understandable

Crouch 6 caused problems

Lennon 8/10 was good and intelligent when he came on

Kaboul 5/10 was bombing forward walking back had some serious lapses in concentration that he got away with

Sandro 6/10 good tackles and good going forward he's going to be an animal! One dreadful pass tho

Harry 5/10 wrong team good balls to change it

BAE easily our best player - yet again we were overrun in midfield - just cannot understand why sandro didnt start in place of one of the strikers - vdv much improved tonight but cannot be part of a four man midfield if we have any chance of dominating possesion

One thing is for sure. BAE MOTM, followed by Modric, then VDV.

Hudd was poor kept us in it with a moment of brilliance.

Bale, was awful, and I'm getting sick of his constant 'injuries' he stays down almost every time he's touched.

Benny did play Walcoot onside by not being up with the rest of the defence, but apart from that he was pretty flawless, his use of the ball is so good, even his percentage balls usually find a Spurs man, if only we had one of these for the right...

this was actually dawsons fault with his clueless runs out from the defence which he so often does. There was no need for him to attack the ball and leave space for wally.

Absolutely loved all of that. He really showed that horrible little shit who the better player was.

Fuck me, that was a like the old days. Lots of everything. Both teams provided plenty of it. Some good football, some poor football, some niggle and plenty of drama. This was a victory for beautiful naivety. Possibly a fair result over the 90.

You've got to start somewhere so Let's get the ugly stuff out the way. Redknapp's team and tactics (if we are calling them that) were again very predictable and the Hudd/Mod midfield in that 442 set up left us so open it was unbelievable, and made it so easy for Arsenal to move the ball through midfield we like fruit cake at sunday tea time, every fucker was having a slice. I don't really think there were any tactics as such, just pick what he thinks is his best 11.

Huddlestone scored a wonderful goal, but was like a turtle in a windsock for big chunks of the game. Gave the ball away for the first, then nearly repeated the feat a few minutes later and generally gave the ball away a staggering amount of times (17 in all), but more importantly managed 2 from 3 tackles all game (Modric 4/6 & VDV 6/7) as - as is the case in games like this - the opposition just move the ball round him too easily. In this system, with the players around him I just think his deficiencies cost us more than his abilities gain us. With a flat 4 midfield containing players like Bale, Lennon, VDV or Modric we must, must have a grafter in there otherwise we will continue to get this lottery football that goes either way. One step from brilliant but one step from disaster as we saw last saturday as well.

There was some poor defending and some great defending. No idea what Dawson thinks for the first goal, just forgets about Walcott completely and makes the through ball easy. What Gallas was trying to do for the third I don't know either. But thereafter both played well, Gallas intercepting superbly at times and Dawson making some good tackles.

The second half saw some great performances. Notably Ekotto, Modric and VDV. Kaboul and Lennon injected some urgency and Pav and Crouch worked fucking hard. This game wouldn't please a purist, as there was too much sloppy play, but as a slug fest this was NIgel Benn v Michael Watson. Just superb entertainment. We gave it a real go in the second half and played some really good stuff, if we could only defend better - as a team - we'd be ManU circa 1996/7.

Ekotto's performance was possibly the best I've seen from him in a spurs shirt. Although he's one of the worst punters at times, he can also hit sweeter long balls than anyone in our side at times too, which he did tonight. But his slide rule pass for Lennon for the penalty was the ball of the game.

VDV was for me the inspiration for tonights turn round. It's not just this blokes skill, technique and vision it's that it's packaged with a desire to be on the winning the side. He battles and works for the team. It's a top drawer combination.

Modric played much better second half and was flitting about everywhere and was incredibly unlucky not to get a goal and a pen.

There was plenty of football and passion to admire.

Ratings:

Gomes 7 - Maybe could have done better with the second but also made two outstanding saves and cleared the corners.

Corluka 6 - I thought he did OK first half, but got himself outpaced a couple of times.

Gallas 6.5 - Fucked up for the third but was pretty good before and after.

Dawson 6.5 - Just found himself in no mans land for the first but like Gallas was good after.

Ekotto 8 - Great game, all round.

VDV 8.1 - Outstanding game. Skill, cool under pressure and graft.

Huddlestone 5+1(Goal)=6 - His head never went down but he looked like he was running in treacle at times and was - for the second game running - poor for the first 30 minutes. Gave the ball away more than any central midfielder I can remember doing in any game this season. Magnificent goal though and celebration a la justin Fashanu gets him a bonus point.

Modric 7 - Tried hard and second half was superb. I know I want him further up but I thought moving out left today robbed us of a bit of impetuous at a time when we were on top. I would have just swapped sandro for Hudd at that time.

Bale 4 - He huffed and puffed but found it tough.

Pav 6.5 - Worked hard and brings more to a game than Defoe.

Crouch 6.5 - Graft and one some good balls in the area.

Kaboul 6 - Good shift.

Lennon 7 - Lively and worked hard.

Sandro - can't mark for so little time but was great when he came on, and I'm sure if he'd started we'd not have conceded a couple of the goals we did. He nearly scored as well.

Dont disagree with much of that BC, but my MOM goes to Ekotto.

Agree that Hudd was poor for the first 30 mins, but he's making errors with his passing that he wouldn't normally do to be fair, still looks a little rusty and off the pace...not that he had much to start off with

But yeah VDV was immense, you could see how much he wanted it and coupled with his quality its a magic combination.

I definitely want Sandro in the side, what that means for others in certain positions I'm not so sure.

After watching the highlights I realised I'd missed his celebration after his first goal, running over to the gooners, doing his 'shhhh' gesture (again ).

Brilliant stuff. I'd imagine if he played for another English club I'd hate his guts because of that attitude...but when he's on our side it makes me love him even more

dontcha wish your left back was BAE, dontcha...
Change the BAE to Disco Benny, i.e. "Dontcha wish your left back was French & Sexy, Dontcha wish your left was Dis-co Benny, Dontcha...", and it's a terrace classic in the making....

Yeah I know he plays for Cameroon, but that would not rhyme.....
