Somebody who is already enjoying a summer, of the Indian variety, is Miroslav Klose. After becoming the World Cup’s record goalscorer last year in Brazil, the 36-year-old is continuing to shine in the autumn of his career and has been in terrific form this season for Lazio, scoring 13 times, to help them club into second place in Serie A. But, with his contract up at the end of the season, Tottenham are sniffing about and are keen to offer the German a wad of cash in the hope that he might do some of his own sniffing for them inside various Premier League penalty boxes next season. Spurs are not alone in these endeavours, however, with Aston Villa and São Paulo both shouting and waving loudly in Klose’s direction. Haringey, Birmingham or Brazil, Miroslav, you decide.

Might have taken it seriously until it said "wad of cash", revealing itself to sound like it was written by a 15 year old.

A striker with a rich history but is in no way suited to the Premier league............... Baldini will be all over this.

It's the Guardian rumour mill section, it's always written like that in a humorous sense, doesn't take itself seriously at all as it's just a round up of often far fetched chatter.

Instant terms which make you doubt the authenticity of an article:

"wad"
"warchest"
"pocketed"

Always been like that for years.

I know this comes from the Rumor Mill in the Guardian who normally seek out the dumber rumors and present them in a cheeky manner.....

But the fact that this rumor is popping up along with some of the others (Llorrente, Affelay, Kjaer, Ogbonna etc) makes it seem like the papers are just going back 2-3 seasons and pulling rumors so that they have stories to take up space.

This particular article may be bollocks, but for what it's worth I would take Klose. I feel it would be beneficial to have an older striker who's been there and done it in the ranks; experience, a wise head and a character. A Klose, a Rafa, a Villa or whoever, I think it would help. Get a season or two out of him and then get him coaching the youngsters. I'd be for it. Selling Ade and RS and bringing in a wiser player alongside a young hungry striker would be great imo

I agree that we need that type of player, but I'd sooner see an experienced midfielder or defender instead of an attacker.

I can't disagree with that, as good as it us is to see the youngsters in the team, we certainly need some experience in the squad too

He's still got some life left in him. Works really hard up top for Lazio sometimes and the guy is a top finisher.
