I was watching TLW on repeat this morning and they had POK on. He was saying that for summer we would be looking for another defender, a midfielder if PEH goes and an attacker of some sort. He did say that he wasn’t sure what attacker as apparently Spurs are impressed with Richy of late and may reevaluate the need for another striker.

Does make you wonder how the likes of Bergvall, Devine, Phillips etc will fit in. I guess maybe defender could also mean L/RB but I’d be disappointed if we ended up not giving Phillips a chance. Assuming he impresses for the rest of the season.
Richy does have 8 goals and we should also take into account he was injured/struggling for the first 10 games or so, therefore he may have actually scored even more.

Son has 12, but probably would have a couple more if it wasn't for Asia Cup.

Between them they may contribute to 35+ goals.

What we need is a winger who can really contribute. So I can get behind that line of thinking.

Not on here, I scan a few of the YT channels to get a broader view of things, I generally can't tolerate too much of their nonsense tbh but it's good to get an idea of the bigger picture at times to see where our fanbase is at, even the plonkers.
For context it's a channel that's very heavily Levy out.
I’m going to be a miserable **** here, so apologies in advance and no offence intended buuuuut……..

You keep an eye of stuff that you freely admit is nonsense that you can’t tolerate too much of and then fetch that over here for discussion. Really?

We’ve enough idiots of our own without fucking importing it ;)

Not going to rate it but it has been a tremendous season to help this team go forward.

- Dier and Lloris out (only Hojbjerg and Skipp remain who may not be part of plans going forward)
- Crucial loans for Phillips and Devine.
- Keeping Reguillon, Tanganga and Spence in the shop window by moving their loans elsewhere as they were not getting sufficient game time.
- Future planning with the signing of huge talent (Bergvall)
- CB that we really needed (Dragusin).
- Werner - surprise deal and one heavily weighted in our favour. If it works out and we sign him, we could have hardly done much better - gives us more money to go heavy on a winger.

We have been decisive and continue to build the blocks for a team that is geared for a sustained period in the coach's mould.

It has also made things a lot clearer for the summer as I only see a winger, a CB and a Sarr back-up as necessary buys.

Phillips, Donley, Devine and Bergvall may/will all be able to stake a claim for a first team spot which may mean we don't need to dip into funds to get players for these positions.

I'm not racist buuuut...

Posts deleted, I don't think it warranted this kind of belittling on your part 😉

Excellent window.
Dragusin is a starter level CB.
And I'm already calling Werner for £15 million in the Summer. I've seen enough in a couple of games to justify that price.
And whilst I was hoping for Wharton, the Swedish lad gives me the same vibes so looks like a great purchase.

I think we now have enough for third place this year (behind City and Pool).

I think Richy needs to be assessed over the rest of the season but the signs are certainly incredibly positive. In general I agree tho I think there is a glaring gap in our WF for a certain type of player. It will be interesting to see what side we look at (LW or RW) and what profile will it be. Will we look for more of a youth prospect like Nusa or maybe someone a little more established if we don't need to spend on a striker.

We were linked with Riccardo Calafiori in the Italian press a few times. LB/CB I think. Wouldn’t surprise me if he is who we go after. I think Davies may go in the summer.
Or Willian Pacho who fits the CB/LB, just like Lloyd Kelly. So probably one of these three. I do like the look of all three so will be happy with any.

It’s hard to review windows without knowing how the players brought in will work out. But as far as identifying the players needed, and getting the deals done, this is an A* window.

I mean, we’ve seen Werner already make an impact and that happens as soon as it does because of how quickly we got him in. Dragusin looks like a perfect fit for PL football and Bergvall is an 18 year old that may be the next great midfielder in Europe. Not too shabby for a January window, I’d say.

100%.. and that is really really promising, because how many time does it seem like the entire fan base can see the glaring holes in the squad but the club can't. Really refreshing.

The window has been adequate.

Highly rated CB in - but if we’re being honest we managed the squad badly last summer in that dept and we all know we left ourselves short. So this was the bare minimum given it should have already been sorted. It cost us points.

Werner is a decent signing for cover. Especially with Sonny absent. But with those two and Johnson we have very similar profiles and only one attacking midfielder who plays to their on the shoulder strengths. A bit of a low value opportunistic signing that we like from a financial perspective.

window has been ok - nothing more or less - in my opinion.

Tough crowd. We got business done early and beat Bayern Munich and Barcelona to players they really wanted and it's described as the 'bare minimum'.

this was obviously written before the links with Bergavall which is why he didn’t get a mention.

And im not unhappy but given that we left ourselves short last summer, and obviously so, getting in a CB was the bare minimum in January.

10/10z I really wanted the young prospect who would be loaned back to their club as it has worked so well with destiny and Sarr.

I've been extremely critical of levy etc but it does feel like we are building something quite special with these young players.

It's 10/10 for me. We needed a CB and we fought off Bayern Munich to get Dragusin. We needed a bit of cover up top and we picked up Timo for relative peanuts. I thought Nusa would be a great addition and was a bit disappointed we didn't try for Wharton, but instead we bagged Bergvall from right under the noses of his dream club, Barcelona. We got some excellent loans done as well with Phillips and Devine and also Tanganga and Reggie. Veliz will get game time in Spain, and we cleared space in the squad by moving out Dier and Lloris who were on big money. That's all excellent business in my book. Couldn't ask for more.

Compared to the rest of PL clubs a great window plus the bonus that the summer window already started with Bergvall.
Can we assume that with Munn, Lange, Ange working together and Fabio still in the background that Levy has really taken a back seat and letting others guide the club along the right path.

Liking the new world. Appears to be a raised focus and cohesiveness about the setup. We’re getting really positive feedback about the work Lange & Co are doing, plus Fabio still patrolling Serie A for us, and all under the clear direction of what Ange wants, albeit he appears more flexible to flip between targets

We were linked with Riccardo Calafiori in the Italian press a few times. LB/CB I think. Wouldn’t surprise me if he is who we go after. I think Davies may go in the summer.

I think having 3 senior CB’s who are all capable of being starting calibre with no drop off, then faith in Phillips/Dorrington for next off the rank, knowing we also have Emerson (RCB) or Davies (LCB), albeit I could see where we may cash out on Davies if an opportunity for Kelly (younger and free) or Calafiori comes along, both a bit more athletic.

I think if we could the afford to let Hojbjerg, Skipp and Lo Celso go with one incoming first team ready CM with the same lack off drop off as CB, knowing we have Deki and Devine/Donley/Bergvall too. Perhaps add another WF, one with some genuine pace and trickery, plus look at backup keeper. Job done. GK, CB/LB, CM, WF. Four players and our squad would be fairly well overhauled, on the assumption Son ans Richy do the business up top.

Don't know if I could rate it out of 10, but I have really liked that we finally appear to be going about things as a sensibly run, well organised club should. We've got more money to spend than most and have just got it done this window.

Have we, maybe got our shit together for once?????????

Really promising for the future.

I was happy before, but now with Bergvall and loaning out our promising youngsters, I can't be but amazed how well we have done this window.

Agree with everything except your first and second last points.

Firstly, I think Gil, probably Sessegnon and possibly GLC will not be part of plans going forward. Maybe even Solomon too although it’s too early to tell. Skipp on the other hand I think Ange will have in his plans for at least the next couple of years - until we have an idea how people like Donley, Devine and the Swedish lad will pan out.

Secondly I actually think legit cover/competition for Udogie is a bigger priority. We will see if Sessegnon can fill that role but I am not holding my breath. I can live with Royal as RB/CB cover and Davies at a pinch but the drop from Udogie is severe.

A simply tremendous window. Really does set us up for a hopefully successful summer. We really need to have an eye on Sonny's replacement imo.
