The Guardian is linking us to Kimmich.
Just read that, what a player.

I can't think of many better players with the ball at his feet. Why would Bayern let him leave though?

Just checked, out of contract 2025...

This would make our window an 11 out of 10.

How close was Kane to Hojbjerg? I smell an opportunity. PEH gets to go back to one of his homes, too.

Kimmich is currently on 322 000 £ weekly wages, he would have to take a severe pay cut to come here. For comparison Bentancur is on 75k, Bissouma 55k and Hojbjerg on 100k per week.

As far as I can see the Guardian are just pointing out it was mentioned elsewhere in their "rumours" section. This story is coming from Football Insider who are not reliable. At all.

With Nusa fallen through and PEH electing to stay I think its pretty likely this window is over for us.

Not much time left now. Werner and Dragusin. A couple good loans out. PEH set to stay, Nusa to Brentford, and no other reinforcements.

I expect nothing in January, so I think we've done good business. If Son, Bissouma, and Sarr weren't off in Cups, I think I'd feel even better.

Gallagher is an odd one. Does he really start over any of Bissouma, Bentancur, Sarr or Maddison? I’d say no. However, would he add better depth than Hojbjerg, Skipp and Lo Celso, I’d say so.
Are we really going to pay £40-60m (depending on what you believe) for a squad depth player.
That said, the talk at the end of the summer window was that Ange had identified Maddison and Gallagher as two midfield upgrades, and the way he has turned our team round you’d want to give him some more of his own picks.
Reality, unless Chelsea offer a deal that really works for us, I see us going for someone else.
I think it’s hard to say about whether he starts or not - probably not over Bentancur, Sarr or Maddison, but likely would be first in line after that. Look how much PEH has played this season with no Europe and almost no cup games. I think he’d get 25 starts and 40+ appearances for us next season and is home grown. It’s opportunistic for sure, but I see why we’re interested, especially if Ange thinks he fits the mould.

For the first time I’m not to concerned by the last day madness. If an opportunity presents itself I feel we may have room to move, but ultimately if we don’t, I think the impending return of injured and internationals leaves us looking stronger as February moves on. I won’t feel we’ve been left short, the additions of Dragusin and Werner addressed two areas of need, and the loan redistribution is smart.

Pleased with our window and even more so that we did what was needed early. Makes a change from this time last year with the late Porro drama.
With other clubs, notably our competitors for CL, being restricted by FFP i wonder if we are tempted to go in if a player with the x factor becomes available for the final push.
With chelsea being postponed our fixtures on paper (i know) until newcastle on the 13th of April offer us an opportunity to nail down 4th at a minimum.
For me a final 3rd killer is the missing piece and if a deal for someone emerges it could be an exciting second half of the season.

What did we miss? If we'd bought him from Reading, he wouldn't got to play as regularly to become the player he is now.

We can't rue not buying every player that turns out to be very good.
One of the best talents around, always was, pretty obvious what we missed.

Now that Nusa's not viable I'm just hoping Fabio's on the blower to Juve about Yildiz or Soule.
