If United are interested, he'll go to United. Would be great if he came along, i don't think anyone can argue that when we look at the squad defending the wide areas is an absolute shambles, arguably non-existent a great deal of the time, and this chap both has a top drawer name (i already made a great joke about it in the old Memphis Depay rumour thread, but i'm too lazy to do it again), and he appears to be quite enthusiastic about both attacking and defending, so thumbs up.

But as i say, United.

Not for me. I've always thought he's massively over rated. Man U probably didn't help him by giving him a £60k a week contract 5 minutes after he'd made his debut. All a bit too much too soon.

Re depay. Looks like everyone wins but us. Man U get the player and PSV probably get a transfer fee double the amount we offered. Plus depay probably gets a fat contract at Man U.

Agree with your Januzaj assessment. I have never really rated him. Never thought he impressed much at u21s though he was one of their better players. He started well but I just don't see it, and I think the way he came on the scene and looked good in what was a poor start of a season under Moyes which led to his ability being inflated higher than it actually is. He is potentially a good player but I don't think at the moment he is as good as made out.

Depay and his agent don't operate in the world of probabilites when it comes his next contract  A (very) "fat contract" is a certainty this time.

I think we need first team players for that position rather that good young players IMO.

I dont disagree with this but equally i think everyone is being very quick to dismiss Januzaj. When he burst on the scene everyone was clamouring for more of him - rightly or wrongly I recall there being a desperate bid to try and get him to play for England cos he somehow qualified. He's quick, skillful and has a good cross on him. He has also shown he can score goals at this level.

I think in some ways Moyes put too much pressure on him to be some sort of saviour and it was too much too soon.
I realise he is far from the finished article but if he could be picked up relatively cheaply then there's huge potential to work with.

Anyway, let's not turn this into a Januzaj thread when we've not even been linked, to my knowledge.
