Well they are well rid really arent they, he is terrible and i will be very suprised if he gets another decent job in the top flight let alone the championship, mainly cause it seems he cannot inspire a team, so that is a major part of his job.

You'd think, wouldn't you, but loads of shit managers just go from sacking to new job with barely a break. Potential employers seem to look at the experience rather than the results.

it's pretty harsh on him by lerner. if he was awarded a bit more time surely he could do the job. it took him just one more year to complete a fully successful relegation campaign at bcfc and in the end he proved he's fully capable of doing that job. sure they won the carling cup, but you know, everyone goes through blips and that. shame villa lost faith in him after just one season of not going down. they certainly won't find anyone more suitable for this. hopefully he will bounce back, sign at the hawthornes and will do the job one more time. could start with giving marton fulop a number one jersey for next season...

The disgusting thing is he will probably get another job in football while a young up and coming manager won't get a look in.

Old boys club that is football management.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now fav for the Villa job
That's very interesting, he won the Norwegian league with Molde last season but he arguably had the strongest squad to work with too. His most impressive accomplishment for me is getting Molde's now leading striker to actually score goals, as he was useless before Solskjær came to the club. He seems to be very good on the training ground and also reads the game very well from the bench, something Ferguson always complimented him for when he was at United.

Would be a huge gamble by Villa but I think it might pay off.

Forgot to add that I'd be a bit surprised if Solskjær actually left Molde now because he's been saying ever since he came to the club that he really wants to have a crack at the Champions League with them, which would suggest that he won't leave for at least another season.

The thing with McCleish is that, disregarding the style and intent that his teams show, he's plainly not good enough to even implement that successfully as his last 2 relegations have shown. Villa at WHL this season were atrocious, they came to sit deep and stifle us whilst hoping to hit on the counter. They did neither, well they sat deep I guess but we've never had an easier 90 minutes football (until Blackburn came calling). At least someone like Pulis is good at what he does, even if you object to what he does. McCleish is neither adventurous or effective, it's the worst combination. At least Blackpool under Holloway are exciting to watch, despite being horrendously naive at times.

That's why I really like Rogers, he plays excellent football, but not naive football.

Probably the best thing that's happened to Villa all season. Villa fans will be delighted.

I reckon Lerner will go after somebody big this time round. Benitez? And who knows, maybe even Capello!!

They've been reporting on 5 Live today that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is Villa's target. I'm not sure how tall he is.

I like the idea of Solskjaer having a go. Too many people who are continuous failures get jobs in football management.
