Aaron's looks to me like he has the potential to be the player we wanted KWP to become.

Much like KWP he's technically gifted but is not the tallest and a little slight in build. However, he has that aggression, pace and courage to take a man on that I never really saw in KWP (and hence I think Poch and Jose never fully trusted him).

If Jose wants someone taller and more physical then he's not gonna be our man, though.

Arrons is a little stouter than KWP, he is a lot more aggressive and not to mention much quicker so I don’t have the same concerns defensively about him as previous managers have had over KWP. I’d be very happy if we can get him for a decent fee and for him to be our designated attacking FB as he does produce quality when he gets into the final 3rd. Tanganga can be a more defensive RB option

I would love to see us sign Aarons and Celik [at the expense of signing another CB i.e. Kim Min-Jae].

Aarons would be an excellent RWB. While I see Celik as an excellent defensive RB, he’s not necessarily a dominant attacking RWB and therefore signing Aarons would give us the tactical flexibility to play 3 at the back. It would also allow us to have a strong attacking RB option if Mourinho plans to revert to keeping Davies back in possession and have the RB primarily attack down the flank.

Having Davies & Sessegnon and Celik & Aarons would make us very strongly balanced with attacking / defensive fullbacks.

Whether we sign two RBs or 1 RB and 1 CB, we’re going to make it more difficult for Tanganga to break into the first XI. I’d rather see another RB come in than another CB like Kim Min-Jae who will jump him in the pecking order in his preferred position.

As long as we don’t have more than 4 centre backs I think Tanganga will still get plenty of minutes this season with us competing in 4 competitions and the likelihood of player injuries and suspensions.

Anyone worried about Aarons's height should note that at 1.78m he towers over Philipp Lahm (1.70), Dani Alves (1.72), Trent Alexander-Arnold (1.75) and Joshua Kimmich (1.76).

A few of us were very bored weeks ago when his height was discussed to death, he is not 5'10. Clearly shorter than Jamal Lewis who is also listed the same.

If we sign him I think we will need two right backs. Its going to be hard for him to come in and play to the level of a champions league player. That’s the level we want to get back to so we need players capable of performing at that required level straight away next season. Can he do that, I’m not sure. He probably needs another season at a premier league club to see how he performs again before exposing him to that.

Trouble is, he’s expensive and we dont seem willing to pay enough in transfer fees to buy two right backs, which is what we need to do if Aurier goes. Aarons and tanganga at right back is very inexperienced. I wouldn’t want to go that way. The timing of signing him isn’t the best. We’ve really fucked our fullback options in recent years.

Their official website doesn’t list height but it shits all over our website (obviously) for content on the player. Got all his season stats on there in easy to view tabs. Worth a look.

Selling trippier and not buying a right back has fucked us ....if we sell aurier now, we really need two right backs even if that means we have to spend 33-35m on two right backs...Looks like the 10m we spent on clarke, should have spent that on a right back ...

Castagne is on last year of his contract and rumoured fee is around 13-15m ... Zeki celic rumoured fee is around 18m and aarons rumoured fee is around 20m ... I think we will go for castagne and aarons ... Aarons deal will be creative one like big loan fee(10-12m) with an option to buy after one year ...

I think Jose wants 5 center backs with one or two center backs can play in right or left back. Two right backs with one right back can play in left back(castagne) and one pure left back (Davies) with academy players filling the role (cirkin) ...

Previously jose has used zanetti, azpi, ramos in right back, left back, centerback role ...

For what it's worth, I'd take the 1.78m listed height for Aarons with a huge grain of salt. He has definitely appeared shorter than that whenever I've seen him play, but that's just an observation from afar.

To better compare though, here is him pictured with Jamal Lewis who on the same sites is also listed at 1.78m:

We should of sold Trippier after the World Cup when we could of got a high fee for him and bought in a proper first choice option. Aurier would then of got his move last summer and we could of tried KWP more or got in another challenger for the RB spot. Once again it goes back to the horrendous 2018 window. Getting two new same sided fullbacks in one window is a big ask both transferwise and also in terms of getting the players to perform.

The great Norwich player height debacle lmaooo

I'd say Jamal Lewis is also inaccurately listed as 1.78m, he's nearly the same height in that picture as Ben Godfrey who is listed at 1.86m.

As I recall, ITK alluded that the hierarchy expected big offers for Trips and they would have sold, except no offers were received.

For sure. All of those sites are very hit & miss.

At the end of the day though I'm confident in Aarons being significantly shorter than 1.78m. He's certainly not "towering over" anyone like @Fergus suggested.

When I was grabbed the 2 picture examples above I had another general scroll through of Aarons playing, and there isn't a single player he comes remotely close to being as tall as across the Premier League. Just on the Norwich team photos alone, he's by far shorter than the next shortest Norwich player (Lewis).

I'm sure it will be part of the medical determining Aarons' height. And if he is below 1.75 we'll just call it a failed one.

Surely the biggest problem in signing two players in one window wanting to play the same position is convincing them that they’ll get the game time they need as well as enough love from the manager should things not start well?
