Put Royal at LWB and Doherty RWB for a few games and let's compare...

Honestly I think RWB is the only and one spot he could maybe have a future in here, he hasn't been fully tried and tested under conte. What does Royal provide anyway?

RB and LWB or any other position though, boy, I'll play instead of him or take anyone else here please.

The laughable second goal was a series of diabolical play from all of our brain dead players but the first mistake was this donkeys when he messed up the easiest of passes on the over lap when we were actually in the Chelsea box.

So so bad that i cant quite believe how he's managed to make a career as a professional footballer.

I don't think I ever saw him play before he joined, but just assumed he was decent mainly due to his his FPL output. But man, players like him are the reason why something inside me refuses to give up hope of making it professionally. This guy is really really bad, and it's hard to see how we'd be any worse if we replaced him with his own cardboard cutout, nevermind a 17 stone 42 year old fat fuck like myself.

I struggle with Doherty. He is supposed to be a RWB but he doesnt have the skill set for one. He's not a good defender, he's not good playing a wide role and either beating his man or crossing the ball. Yes, he can get into the box and create goalscoring opportunities for himself but there is so much more that we need in that position right now.

I reckon 50% of this forum has played with at least one player better than him who didn’t make it professionally. I am beyond the point of being angry. Instead, I just feel sorry for him.
He brings a certain level of self depreciating humour, realism and a 90s vibe that takes me back to being a teen. What's not to like.

He has also invented (as I said to you in the match thread) the Doherty Step over.

Which folks, generally means he is in an attacking position, does something inexplicable and makes our attack turn into a spurs defense. Its remarkable

We are taking player bashing to new levels in this thread. It hasn't worked out at Spurs for him; let's move on

If you think this is a 'new level' you can't have been in the Winks or Sanchez threads for a couple of years.

People aren’t going to like this but in this busy period he’s actually one of the most important players in the squad until we get another right back.

He covers both fullback positions and with the injuries to sessegnon and Regullion and their inability to stay fit he’s a back up there as well as giving Emerson rest.

he tries yes, but the fact against league 1 he looks no better technically, physically says a lot
