As a Norwegian, I feel obligated to post this. He's only 15, but he is allready dominating the Norwegian league, and is followed by all the major clubs in Europe. I think the video shows why.

Barca, Bayern, Real M - you name it - are all after him. His father told in a very recent interview that he will choose "wisely" where his son will go next - and hinted at Ajax. But who knows when real money are being offered by clubs like Chelski, ManC etc.

This could be a good test for our academy, we should see if we can get him to move to us to get his football education. With our facilities and youth setup we should be looking to take the place of clubs like Ajax and get players like this to sign up early.

@Toela65 Yes it might be optimistic but what's the point in building an academy and training center as good as we have and then not trying to bring in the best kids from that age group to compliment the ones we already have?

How much do you think he's valued at? Looks pretty good to me.

That's a very hypotetical question, since his father thinks it's best for his development to stay at Strømsgodset for the immediate future. But he's been approached by over 30 clubs, and some agents (no wonder) as well. Barcelona is one of them.

The next John Carew
Thank God no. Obviously they're completely different players as well but Carew had all the potential and skill to become one of the absolute best strikers in the world, but fell out of love with the game (his own admission) at 21, got sucked in to the celebrity lifestyle and pissed it away. That he was able to have as good a career as he had at Valencia, Lyon and Villa just shows what a fantastic talent he was, he was that good even if he didn't care.

Ødegaard has everything in him to be huge, and I think it's great for his development and future choices that he hasn't already signed himself over to an agent. His dad is an ex pro himself and seems like a very sensible man. Can't see him leaving Strømsgodset for another couple of years when he's already a first team regular, and I for one hope he does like Zlatan and Eriksen among others before him and uses the Eredivisie or a similar league as a stepping stone. Another two years at Godset and a couple of years at a team like Ajax and he'll be every bit as good as Eriksen, I'm sure.

Ajax would be a very smart choice for the lad. Not too big to drown him out in the sea of talent, but big enough to give him some real competition. They've got one of the best development acadamies in the world and the way that he plays in that video really suits the style of player that they like to mould. A name for the future perhaps.

He's no doubt bitter that this kid is obviously a mercenary just after whoever offers the biggest wage, as surely that's the only reason any player on the planet would sign for any team other than Liverpool, The People's Team.

I vaguely recall Jon Obi Mikel being the next big thing at 15.

As in the best Tracy Chapman lookalike out there? He was and he won.

I don't know if I was the only one who found it hilarious when he got done for speeding...in a fast car. Probably.

Lol. @Toela65 is probably unhappy that whilst we're attracting top youth players like Yahaya and Lazar, Liverpool are taking on our rejects
