To be fair to Palace, if someone came in trying to sign arguably one of our best two players who we didn't want to sell, we'd either dismiss it entirely or ask for way above market value before even considering it. So I don't blame them asking for sixty mill, certainly not when United may well even cough it up. While I do think we might push the boat out moreso than we have in the past, perhaps even breaking our transfer record two or three times in the process, I can't see this one happening at the suggested prices. A shame as the lad would have been ideal. Fortunately, there are a fair few decent right backs doing the rounds, so it isn't a massive issue.
