MNF is all we have for good insightful football conversation, the rest is generic bullshit.

Souness talking about the style of play today, has he not watched how 95% of teams play vs Man City?

How any times have we beaten them using the same template?

I wish English football analysis and general conversation was on the level of other sports.
Oh come on. He was talking about us and the game we watched. 95% of other teams doesn’t come into it. He was spot on and that aside all of them gave us plenty of praise.

Yep. Said it for so long now. Just because you have more possession, it means sod all. What matters is what you do with the ball when you have. How many actual saves did Lloris have to make? Really? One or two? And the two goals was him letting slip a cross and a penalty. They didn't really trouble our keeper truth be told.
Yeah you could pass the ball around your defence for the entire game and come nowhere near scoring but have 95% possession.

I hate the myth of more possession means you were better. It just shows the style of how you played. You could even say city were inefficient because they had so much possession but did nothing with it.
Also impacted by the state of the game. We scored after 4 mins and we’re ahead @ 2-1 for ages too... the team behind will always have more possession as they chase the game

What you’d ban the broadcaster? I don’t think it’s that simple mate :ROFLMAO:

Half of our fans can’t get over his antics in the summer, you can hardly expect the media to.
I’d ban EVERYONE! ??

And while It's easy to talk about how immense a game that Harry Kane had, Eric Dier had, Romero had, the one thing that Was pleasing throughout the game was our improvement in our ability to get the ball quickly out of our own 1/3. We certainly struggled at times to do it but man when it was on, it was a thing of beauty.

We had 5 shots on target compared to their 4. Clear cut chance we had the better imo

sad but true, i only celebrated after the replay. state of football
I didn't celebrate the first cause I was worried sonny was offside.

Same with the second.

I went mental for the disallowed goal cause Kulusevski was off screen.

Then quiet again for the 3rd.

As soon as the ball hit Romero. I mentally prepared for the pen to be given so as the action was rolling I paid no attention.

Something needs to be done about it. We all want the correct outcome but it's damaging the excitement of the sport.

Why does everyone conflate controlling possession with controlling the game? My pet peeve.

I thought Bentacur was very good over all. Had the ball nicked of him a couple of times but he really covered the ground and was very good.

If someone would've told before the season started that we would beat city home and away I would've reported them to the nearest mental facility. The feeling of proven wrong here , is better than sex !!!
I would have believed it, as we've done it before (at least I think we have) and we somehow have a better record against them than against the other 'big' clubs.

However, I wouldn't have believed we'd beat them twice yet only be 7th in the league and be behind both Arsenal and West Ham. Hopefully that's about to change though...

I thought the passage that lead to Ederson saving with his feet from Kane was really great play as well. Lots of promise in how we are building attacks

That was an amazing move 1, 2 touch pass and move, deserved a goal imo but I’m slightly biased

City claiming they should have won the game because they had most of the ball and did most of the attacking is understandable but sad. What they need to understand is that, self evidently, our defending was better than their attacking and our attacking was better than their defending, their two goals came from a bad mistake by our keeper and a penalty, they never really broke us down and got through us otherwise.

Yeah he was caught a few too many times, but he’s still adapting to league and against city they are so aggressive with the press.
He’s a proper player though, and when he’s fully adapted he will be class.

It’s probably been said but…I know we were excellent but fuck me City are SO bad defensively. 7 clean sheets in the last 10 apparently.

Playing this city team is a total mental battle. If you’ve got the nerve to push them back, they can’t actually defend well.
