Rumour on Twitter today, from Paul O’Keefe that an overhaul is coming up, a new head of football operations, although probably not Campos.

Thats not ITK though is it? That’s saying we need a reorganising behind the scenes like we’ve all been saying for 12/18/24 months. Plus McDermott has gone as has been discussed so it’s obvious things need to change. Any of us could post that.

Campos would be great from a Mourinho-relationship view point but I think people overlook the fact he generally finds unearthed talent. We can't take punts on players from Metz, Amiens, etc and other small clubs because we need players who can operate at a higher level immediately.

Which is why it would be better to have a sporting director who understands what we need for this level.

We can't be signing Osimhen types pre-Lille because they need that year or two with those clubs to grow and have consistent game time.

We'd sign a pre-Lille Osimhen and he'd barely play. We can't take punts like that.

What’s Paul O’Keefe’s relevance to the club? I’ve seen him on Twitter, he sounds like all opinions — which often times are pretty shit ones.

I'd really love to know if anyone has an answer to this...he does be sputtering quite a bit.

I'd imagine it would be part of a DOF's remit to find productive loans for young players like that. As you say, Mourinho is a 'here and now' manager but we need some future planning as well and I don't think JM would devote much time to that, if any.

It's incredible how over the years he became anointed on Twitter, he's just a fan that engages with journalists regularly.

This Jose is a here an now coach grinds a bit, seeing as on his 1st day with Spurs, he pointed out TanGanga to his coaches, and also pulled in Cirkin and White as well as begging up Skipp as a future Spurs Captain which is a terrific piece of man-management. He is fully aware of the way the club does business, and I imagine part of hi remit is to rely on Academy talent when there’s a need. See how he’s brought Tanganga through right across the back line. Skipp has had valuable minutes in high profile matches too. I think that Jose has a long term plan with our youngsters central to that, and will relish the challenge as one he’s never had before.

That was one of my main concerns with Jose but I am to admit that I am being proven wrong.

Only time will tell but so far he has been like a breath of fresh air with our youngsters.

I think the new youth set up points to us not getting one of these in now. A new man would want to get his own men in you'd assume.

I thought the whole idea of a DOF is to be the talent spotter and bring in the likes of Osimhen. Ocampos for i.e. brought in Bakayoko, Lemar, Silva and Fabinho.

In my opinion for next DOF, it should be Ralf Rangnick. Touted to be the next AC Milan manager until Pioli turned the ship around and started winning games - awarded with a new contract and the deal went dead.

That's true but if your generally trying to find unearthed gems it's a massive step up from their standard to ours and these type of players generally need a year or two elsewhere to develop.

What may be possible in future is if Jose has a settled and balanced squad and we buy a couple of these gems and loan them out immediately, same as which Chelsea did. However, I think it's more sense to bring in a director who will specialise in 'smart buys'

Imo Ralf Rangnick could be that type of DOF. He's out of RB Leipzig now after his Milan deal was off.

Rangnick has typically had total control of the RB clubs and has free reign to structure it as he wishes. He wouldn’t get that with Levy who’s too hands on now to allow it.

Also, Rangnick’s football philosophy is high-tempo pressing which all age group sides to the first team play at his clubs, so immediately there would be conflict with Jose, who’s football is nothing like that.
