He's reporting whatever the Brazilian source is and the source says what he's saying. Although he is a massive bellendHagn is literally an arsenal supporting punter who claims to be a journo. I believe he was reporting Vlahovic was having a medical at Arsenal in Jan, and that Raphinha was basically a done deal. He literally makes stuff up
Most on here probably haven't seen him play extensively, but the hype train is strong. I've seen him twice against West Ham, unbeknownst to me, and he didn't stand out at all.How much better is he than Maddison? I’ve honestly never seen him play but if we need to get a none HG RWB I’d love us to go in for Maddison
Is that literally true?Hagn is literally an arsenal supporting punter who claims to be a journo. I believe he was reporting Vlahovic was having a medical at Arsenal in Jan, and that Raphinha was basically a done deal. He literally makes stuff up
Arsenal desperately need central midfielders….Xhaka is shite, Elneny is cover quality at best, Lokonga (sp?) ain’t ready, and Partey is crocked so often that any legal issues he may eventually face are a blessing in disguise (as far as AFC is concerned… not for him or anyone else that was affected obviously) as Arse can start planning a future without him. I believe you meant to argue Arsenal’s focus on attacking midfielders is baffling and long may it continue if it means they will continue to neglect more pressing needs like their back line and central midfield. If my assumption is correct, I agree whole heartedly. If Arsenal are genuinely going for all these central midfielders, they are a bit stupid and I'm even less worried about them than I was before.
I read it as players being linked to our neighbours are going into panic mode and reaching out to other clubs. ?I thought Herc meant because players being linked to our neighbours us fans (SC?)going into panic mode rather than the club
Which bit?
Completely agree, people are going off he’s Brazilian and flashy. He absolutely flopped at Milan and hasn’t exactly put up insane numbers in France. Most on here probably haven't seen him play extensively, but the hype train is strong. I would prefer Mads as at least he's a know quantity, hg, and the money would be similar I believe.
I agree that many probably haven’t watched him and also people using his time at Milan as a reason to doubt his ability clearly didn’t follow what was going on there at the time or how poorly Paqueta was integrated. The general consensus is that selling him was a huge mistake. In the same way overhyping him because he’s “Brazilian and flashy” as you put it is a mistake, so to is underrating him because one may have watched two Europa league games against West Ham and looked at his goal return. It’s worth actually looking at his stats in detail or reading up about him before writing him off. ( I’ll post again bellow the scout report from his first season at Lyon, it’s worth reading just to know what kind of player he is and why we might be looking at him. )Completely agree, people are going off he’s Brazilian and flashy. As usual the numbers quoted for a Lyon player are huge and I just do not think he’s worth that.
if it’s 60m euros for Paqueta or 60m gbp for maddison I’d go for prem proven maddison who put up incredible number lasts season every time.
One thing to bear in mind is that Paqueta and Richarlison have been playing together for Brazil for 3/4 years so must know each others game. Surely a positive.I agree that many probably haven’t watched him and also people using his time at Milan as a reason to doubt his ability clearly didn’t follow what was going on there at the time or how poorly Paqueta was integrated. Not that any of it means he’s worth €60 mil, or if that’s actually the price Lyon want. A few weeks ago his price was quoted at €40-50 so we don’t actually know. Personally I think if we were going to spend big on a creative player we’d probably more like bring in SMS then Paqueta (if they were the same price) as Paratici is known to be a massive fan of his. We also know Conte isn’t wild on Maddison and more being explored as an alternative to Spence so I really don’t see us going down that avenue unless Spence doesn’t happen, even then his price would still probably put us off. Really tho I’d be surprised to see us spend more the £30/40 mil on a creative player at this point, which would probably rule out Paqueta, Maddison and SMS.
Player Analysis: Lucas Paquetà
When AC Milan signed Lucas Paquetá from Flamengo in January 2018, there were high expectations. Touted as one of Brazil’s next greats, the midfielder made the journey across the Atlantic to the San Siro, for a fee of 38 million euros. Expected to set the world alight, Paquetá promptly proceeded...breakingthelines.com
Have we even been linked properly? Itk has said they haven’t heard anything about himOne thing to bear in mind is that Paqueta and Richarlison have been playing together for Brazil for 3/4 years so must know each others game. Surely a positive.
I’m fairness I’m still intrigued by the snippet a week or 2 we got from Rob (I think), something about a few exciting names for AM that we wouldn’t have had a chance for a year or 2 agoCompletely agree, people are going off he’s Brazilian and flashy. I'm just going to say it, if Jean Michael-Aulas is happy to let him go then there's 100% a reason.
And for that reason im out.
I am not sure we are in for Paqueta.....
I would rather spend on Carney Chukwuemeka - he doesnt seem to want to extend Villa contract. He has got some serious talent to be a super star
The fact he's getting minutes for a EPL team and still not happy is setting off alarm bells for meHe's a great prospect but I can't see Conte wanting him.
Plus we already have Devine in that position who is at a similar level.

I make it 1-1 between them currently. Levy won the Lloris battle, Aulas won the Ndombele battle.Don’t Levy and Aulas like having a duel?
I'd say that's 1-3 to AulasI make it 1-1 between them currently. Levy won the Lloris battle, Aulas won the Ndombele battle.
