Gossip chat is £34m to newcastle. Seems a price we would be all over if a) we were interested and b) it was a price near the mark for Lyon

The report of this price are from media foot who are absolute dog shit. No credible Journo has said his price will be reduced

This is the most recent story I can find discussing this, which includes the oprinons of journalists Jack Talbot and Ben Jacob.; Jack Talbot believes THFC are the most likely destination, and Ben Jacobs claims Lyon will listen to offers closer to £55m.

?| #Tottenham had a €40m+ offer for Lucas Paquetá rejected in January - #Spurs & Manchester City are the most credible options this summer for the player, who isn’t particularly interested in Newcastle or Arsenal. @lequipe @GFFN

Interesting, and I had just posted it was looking like it was between Zaniolo and Maddison. Good to know this guy is also still an option.

If the bid was in January I wonder if it was either Paqueta or Kulusevski.
Think we 100% made the right choice there, although of course Paqueta is very good, clearly Kulusevski’s a better fit for the RW position. Paqueta has an interesting profile but I feel like his best position is as an advanced 8 in a 4-3-3.

Zaniolo looks the most natural for the formation and particularly the position Deki plays in
All 3 are good options for sure but I feel Conte favors the one he knows well from Italy so I'm all for Zaniolo over the others

Possibly in terms of right this minute, however Zaniolo as a huge ceiling if he can kick on. Risk and reward obviously.

I don’t mind Zaniolo as a player, but it’s the player profile I have a big issue with. We wouldn’t be getting creativity with him. Maybe that’s not the manager/DOF/club’s goal for an attacking addition, but I think if we’re looking for a “creative” AM, Paquetá is perfect. In a different stratosphere to Zaniolo in that sense. False 9, either of the 10 positions, advanced 8 in a MF3, and I honestly see him as a very good player for Conte’s MF 2, if a bit wasted there attacking wise. Versatility, flair, creativity. He’s a classic Brazilian on the ball, but he’s so so tenacious and selfless off of it. Works very hard, and actually is pretty good in the technical side of defensive work in his timing of challenges. Final product always improving. It’s why personally I’d be strongly against Zaniolo if we want someone who can just enter the pitch from the start or from the bench and produce moments of magic. But I’m not the manager and therefore I’m 100% behind all signings as in my mind they only join because Conte is very happy to have them.

Can you explain to me why Zaniolo isn’t creative? I think he shows creativity from what I’ve seen. Maybe not in the same way as an Eriksen, but he still shows creativity for me!
