I would assume this is who Herc is talking about. It wont be SMS as he is too expensive and we know Arsenal and Newcastle are keen on Paqueta atm.

Could this be Herc's latest mention?
It def feels like it is, we know we were interested in the past, he seems to be getting a lot of attention atm, he can play everywhere from CM to CF and most would be happy with him I’d think. That being said, it could also be someone who we haven’t been openly linked to. Whoever it is, im assuming there is a lot of interest around them hence the hush hush nature.

A midfielder who can play anywhere....in all honesty...could be everyone & anyone in football. No point in guessing , lets wait for any strong links to emerge

I can’t believe we’re about a year removed from “He Kane Go” but now are discussing which of Maddison or someone equal or better might come play with Kane.

It’s been a good year.

Its also worth noting that Lyon are supposedly in the process of selling Aouar to Betis. Although I don’t think this will stop them from selling Paqueta as there has already been a lot of public noise about him wanting to go, I do think it would make them even more desperate for a new CM/AM replacement.

Paqueta's the one I would like.
The day of the skilfull , luxury player are gone in the Prem and this lad has the skill, but also the strength and aggression to succeed here.
He can also play in the wide positions as we do need to upgrade Moura.

I haven't seen this guy play but I'm really worried about French league signings as we have been bitten multiple times in the past. With someone like Maddison being proven and HG they seem like a far better option (I also am a big Maddison fan).

Whats different about this guy that gives confidence he will be a hit over here, compared to the many French league players who haven't hit the ground running?

I'll preference this by saying I also prefer Maddison, but this guy, even if his skills don't translate completely, will leave everything on the pitch. Extremely hard working player.

That's good to hear. Does he have a good engine in him and does he avoid injuries? They are two other things that would be a huge bonus as so many players lose their way with injuries and stalls their settling in, like Lo Celso

Great engine. According to this only had 2 minor injury in 4 years.
Still want Mads over this guy, I prefer a known quantity, but if we do get him, it'll be interesting to see what he can do.

I'd actually prefer we got Aouar

Seen a few posts linking this player to Herc's post.

Have you considered that we've been told "we are still having conversations in Italy" as per @Trix yesterday.

Zaniolo been mentioned In media, not sure about any ITK.

Fits the plays multiple positions profile.

But I personally wouldn't be all too fussed with this one if it came to fruition.

Once you have an ACL reconstruction, your knee is a lot stronger, as they take muscle from your hamstring and create a new ligament. I’m still playing at 40 and ruptured mine 15 years ago. After 2 failed Ops to tidy it up, a full reconstruction was done 6 years back and feels loads better (touch wood) since. Is still a risk though and rather we passed on him.
