I think it will be the same score as last season - 2-1 to Liverfool. We will give a good account of ourselves and a much better performance than recently in the Premiership but alas we will still lose narrowly.

I'm going for a win!!!!???

The media narrative about Liverpool is that Klopp is going to lead an unstoppable Liverpool to their first Premier League Championship. But the truth is in 7 out of the first 9 league games they've rode their luck.

In the first game against newly promoted Norwich 2 of their first 3 goals were gifts - 1st one a sliced clearance for an OG after 7 minutes and the 3rd a uncontested header by VVD because he was marked by the smallest defender(!) - he didn't even have to jump. Norwich then went on todominatethe 2nd half and won it 1-0. it would have been a much tighter affair without those two 1st half gifts.

They slaughtered Arsenal but Emery's formation/tactics bizarrely helped Liverpool's attacking strengths allowing their full backs freedom of the flanks ( Despite the evidence of his own eyes he never changed anything!!) and then to make it worse Luiz gifted them a penalty immediately after half time to make it 2-0 and game over. He was hopelessly at fault for their 3rd also.

At Burnley their first goal was an OG from a wicked deflection from a TAA CROSS followed a few moments later by Mee passing the ball to Firmino in his final third. one pass and Mane 1 on 1 with goalkeeper - 2-0 game over.

Chelsea outplayed them for most of that game and had an equalizing goal ruled out for offside by a VAR decision as tight and as wrong as the one against us at Leicester and then missed a couple of easy chances late on.

They won at Sheffield Utd because of a howler from the goalkeeper who let a soft shot slip through his hands.

They won at Leicester with a penalty in added on time. There was contact from Albrighton on Mane but I didn't think there was any way enough contact to cause him to fall down the way he did. A very "soft" penalty. Not all contact in the box is a penalty.

And then last week if it hadn't been for both Rojas and Young inexplicably ball-watching and leaving Llanna free at the back post ManU would have deservedly beaten them.

Hardly the track record of the invincible champions to be that the media wants us to believe. I've been saying for weeks that their luck has to run out soon and I'm rooting for it to happen against us. It's about time we had some luck at Anfield. If we play with the same verve and desire as we did against Red Star - different kettle of fish I know - then if their lucky streak doesn't continue AND we get a smidgen of luck ourselves we are more than capable of getting all 3 points. A victory there could be the result to kickstart out season. A lot of course depends on Poch not trying to be too clever and stick with the team and tactics of midweek.

It'd be lovely to dish up Liverpools first loss of the season that's for sure, quietly confident for reasons I can't explain (n)

I just hope we’re up for it and play a formation that allows us to track back their Fbs with our wingers. No diamonds today please.

I vividly recall the CL Final. They ran at us, bullied us from the word go, practically kicked the ball at Sissoko in disgust at how ungegenpress we were.

So yes, let's pre-emp the fact they they start like rabid dogs and not go a goal down in the first 5...

My mate's just text and asked if I'll meet him in the pub to watch the game.

Might just have set myself up for some ridicule what with him being a Liverpool fan. In fact, most of the feckin pub are.

I'll not back down, feck 'em. Though it does appear I have the breaking strain of a kit-kat.

Already betted big time against us this weekend with Liverpool to win with +1 asian.

I don't think one match against a Poor side in the CHL would have saved us. And I think those problems will come back today.

Just hoping for a good performance tbf.

Either way I win, money or with my heart.

Looking for a performance
rather than expecting a result.

''Take a draw now''
My latest forehead tattoo
38 draws and we probably
avoid relegation.

Liverpool haven't been that impressive of late and if we play to our best - we could nick it. A draw would be a great result. I just don't want us to get a drubbing!

Hubby is a Liverpool fan and we have a strict rule that we don’t watch the game together (or talk about it) and simply look at result afterwards. We are doing pub lunch today to avoid it.
Only exception was champions league final where I went to WHL and he watched at home - although we have still never talked about that game. That’s the problem with two very passionate yet opposing fans getting married!
