Agree. Its all down to the quality of the players, not the coaching. They're individuals not a team.

I don't think it's that simple, although it is part of it. Ferguson often spoke of Solskjær as having the best tactical mind of any player he worked with, how he analysed games from the bench in far greater detail than his teammates and was ready to make an instant impact when he came on.

I think part of Solskjær's struggles is that he needs the game to start before he knows how he needs his team to set up, which is a damning indictment of their opposition scouts and match planning but I think that is part of it.

And it helps to have good players to throw on, of course it does. And the players clearly like Ole so they will put in an effort when it's going wrong, which helps.

i recall having a bet with a liverpool supporting mate about 15 years ago when i could see the writing on the wall with them. solid top 4 up to that point but winning games on belief and the opposition giving them too much respect. I can see the same with man utd now.
