Yeah that was a stupid moment. You have Andy Carroll in the box who is fresh from a hatrick against Arsenal with two headers and also assisted the goal they got against United with a header....and they think no, Mark Nobles world renowned volleys will rescue us. THIS WILL BE OUR GERRARD MOMENT.

My favourite move of the game was as the seconds were ticking away with West Ham needing a goal, Payet takes the corner, plays it to the edge of the box where 'Nobes' is waiting for the volley. Nobes watches the ball float towards him, connects with it sweetly and spoons it about 5 metres wide for a goal kick.

Remind me again why Nobes hasn't had his England call up...oh yeah - the FA conspiracy...

It was more like 15 metres. And it just bobbled along the floor. Lovely stuff.

I need to see a clip of this.
It was better in the context of the entire game at hand.

Basically Herrera had just collected a yellow minutes before and then fouled someone again and it could have resulted in another yellow (though it would have been harsh imo) and then acts (maybe he was injured, but it looked like a sham) injured to both try and get the sympathy of the ref to not book him again and to waste time because West Ham were trying desperately for an equalizer.

So Herrera was taking off his boots and generally looking like a kid building a sandcastle while the medical staff come on and the West Ham players are losing their shit trying to get the game on and the ref is trying to get Herrera off as well so he'd oes a little hobble towards the sideline and would have taken the slowest walk to the sideline you would have ever seen so Mark Noble thought, "fuck that" grabbed him by the waist and literally carried him off and plopped him down.

I was in stitches laughing watching a grown man carry another man around the pitch by the waist and needed to see the replay because it was even better.

Showed the human element of the game too as the ref probably should have booked Noble, but didn't as his intentions are understandable and there wasn't any maliciousness. It's just there's no way you can be allowed to literally hoist up an opposing player by the waist and carry him around the pitch, injured or not.

Bloody hilarious though, I hope highlights show the entire episode including Herrera's fouls.

Currently doing a job for a Spammer. Nice bloke until football crops up, as is often the case when it comes to West Ham fans. He genuinely believes there's a conspiracy against them this season, 'no way will the prem league allow 3 clubs like Leicester, West Ham and Tottenham in the top 4, refs will keep us out' is favourite of mine that he keeps bringing up.
He was talking about the new stadium and how cheap the tickets are etc, he was banging on for a good ten minutes about how demand is huge yet seats are so cheap, I finally bit with 'you know why they are so cheap don't you? You can't see the fucking pitch!'
He was not best pleased! Haha

Strange lot really. The sense of entitlement is scary. Every one of them I know believed the FA Cup was in the bag at least one round ago. Never that easy, especially when you've only won it 3 times in 120 odd years!

It's worse than that, they are cheap because you CAN see the pitch.

Reminds me of Robbo picking up Dani Alves and carrying him off the pitch.

Was that in the 2-2 Sevilla game at WHL?

Worst case of cheating from Alves I've ever seen from a player in 90 minutes of football. Unbelievable.

Details have now been revealed regarding their rent of the Olympic Stadium.
Paying £2.5 million per year, for 99 years.

However, out of the £272 million that has been spent on redeveloping the stadium, West Ham paid just £15 million.
I guess the theory is that the rent will eventually cover the rest.

And they get half of that £15 million back if they have to share the stadium with another football club.

Which of course they won't because let's face it, £15 million is a drop in the ocean in terms of premier league finances, especially as they'll expect to be filling it every week. They've got themselves an amazing deal and it does rankle a bit from a fan perspective, I'd still rather look forward to a revamped WHL.

It still stinks to high heaven this deal. I'm pretty sure West Ham pay £2.5m in rent but don't have to pay for police or stewarding which amounts to about £2.5m a year.

It cost £272m to get the stadium 'Premier League' ready but premier league tennants only paid £15m towards this.

It also looks like any naming rights on the stadium over £4m, West ham get a share of too.

I still can't get my head around why the taxpayer and the government are being so 'charitable' towards west ham and a bigger fuss is not being made.

So is there anything that can actually be done about this deal then? Is there a course of action that can force it to be redone or are we just left to bitch about it?

It's a complete joke, they don't have to pay a single thing for the running costs, not corner flags, not policing/ stewarding. How this can be allowed is a farce. Just shows how embarrassed they are by it that they were trying to fight to keep it redacted

They're paying some of their players more in a year than what they're paying on rent of a £500m stadium

I simply don't see any justification for the taxpayer contributing anything towards what West Ham should be paying for.

Yes there will be some taxpayer money going in because there is a public element to the stadium, but the balance is all wrong, particularly when you consider how much the naming rights are likely to be.

Basically shows what a complete shambles the management of the stadium was (i.e. they had no idea what they were doing with it) and West Ham simply had them over a barrel.

The referee completely missed one of West Hams thugs stand on Herrera's foot a few seconds before. And completely ignores Caroll just throwing himself around and pushing defenders all the time. How that guy doesn't get sent off every match is a complete mystery to me. Mind you same could be said for Fellaini.

Which will be like paying £200 a month by then.

And I don't buy this either, "Someone renting the stadium for 25 days a year cannot be responsible for 365 days' running costs." If they weren't converting the stadium to their specific use they might have a point, but as it is the stadium has been converted at a massive cost and is going to be decked out in West Ham colours all year and they aren't paying running costs. I wonder how many high street shops get a discount on their rent if they don't open on a Sunday? They should pay a fee based on them renting the stadium every day during the football stadium. If there are other events scheduled there during the season they should get a refund.

I think West Ham fans have been mislead by their board too. They said they could decide who uses the stadium for football at the same time as them but after reading the document (admittedly only scanning through it) it seems those running the stadium and the LLDC make that decision and not West Ham as the tenant. They are powerless to stop the LLDC letting us or another team using it.
