They need a DM and Casemiro is arguably the best in the world

Great signing for them

I will be creaming myself if we have him instead of Hoiberg
Yea he could make quite a big difference, they’ve been crying out for a top quality one for a while and not many around better than him.

Casemiro is a great player.....but look at what he was surrounded by at Madrid. Varane has hardly come over and set the prem on fire as he?

Another player with big name from a big team, is it exactly what they need? They have thrown money at the big teams for years and it hasn't worked. They needed to formulate some sort of plan and not just go for any big name signing they can find.

Casemiro is great in Spain playing at a slower pace, in a team that dominates possession and arguably have little competition.

He's a good player, but will he transition to the PL now at his age? Most PL midfielders are strong, quick, and technically very good.

I think he'll struggle to adjust, a bit like when they signed Schweinsteiger a few years ago.

They are still just putting on big names and hoping to appease fans, rather than think about the long term benefit to their squad.

Given how dire the situation is at man United they should be going for a ready made DM like casemiro. Main issue he'll have is he's used to playing with modric, kroos etc and now he'll have Fred or mctominey partnering him... ?

United scouts claim this was the definitive piece of game footage that convinced the higher ups at United to make an offer to Casemiro. They felt this showed leadership as here is he trying to "kick some sense" into Fred.

He’s a big jump in individual quality no doubt. But until the structure and culture of that club changes I don’t see it making a huge difference. They signed Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo last season and managed to get worse. 3 players who I’m sure we’d have lost our collective shit over if just one of them came to Spurs. They’re trying to solve their problems by plugging in the biggest names they can find without ever getting to the root of anything.

I mean, he is a great player and a huge upgrade on the current DMs. What I don't understand is why they waited this long? It's just utter chaos isn't it. Just whoever they can get in.

It's amazing that as a spurs fan I have been rarely checking the transfer section for over a week now because we are basically sorted and have been for ages.(y)

As a player to fill a team's desperate years-long need then it's hard to think of a better deal than Casemiro to Yanited.

Whether it works remains to be seen.

Levers!

Manchester United’s owners are expected to be offered a cash lump sum in exchange for a share of future TV income as a way of raising money to pay for the expansion of Old Trafford.
The Glazer family are understood to be exploring different ways to raise investment, including a loan or selling a minority stake in the club. The other possible option, which industry insiders say is certain to be offered by investment firms, would be to follow Barcelona’s example and do a deal with a finance company for a lump sum in return for a percentage of future TV rights income.
The Glazers need to fund infrastructure work costing about £200 million to raise the Old Trafford capacity to 90,000 and improve the training ground.

News from Germany about Ronaldo. He is apparently pushing for a move to BVB Dortmund, via his agent. BVB are currently playing the “we have no contact with the player and no money”. The other factor is an additional player in front of the current line of youth, eg Moukoko. That said, he would sell shirts, score goals and maybe help BVB break the 10 year league winning run of Bayern. He would have to come on a low fee and take a huge pay cut, and if he does, it’s to compete for the title.

I’m unsure on this one, I won’t claim to be ITK, but we are connected to the club & German DFB. I won’t say more.

A massive coup for BVB and further weakened United… Just as long as we don’t get BVB in the CL Quarter Finals again, they haven’t forgotten last time… ?

Poch definitely wouldn't sort this mess out.

He needs to work under a top DOF otherwise he's equally as clueless about targetting players to bring in.

The funny thing about ETH is, I think he's already fucked it. The Martinez signing will be one of the worst PL buys ever. 60 mill for a midget CB, and then partnering him with Maguire. They signed a LB they don't need. ETH disregarded Rangnick's advice, went his own way, so there's arrogance there too.

There's no doubt at all that United have gone with his targets, so ETH has to bear responsibility for that. It's like he's never watched PL football before.

And now 60 million on a 30 year old they seem to really be getting to grips with the window

His wages and terms must be insane.

Be interesting to see how he does, it’s a 60 million short term fix, smacks of desperation.

Casemiro at £60 million for a 30 year old feels like "missing piece" signing for a Club challenging - or a "fuck we're getting relegated here - stop the damn rot" type signing.

Great player - just awkward circumstances.

Why do this club keeps thinking signing big names will work... And not like these players are proven in the league. ?‍♂️
