Looked good against Madrid, they will be no where near as bad this season. A couple of additions at CB and possibly a CM and they will be competing for the same spots as us. As me and @Shadydan were saying in another thread, a front four including Rooney, Mata, RVP with Januzzi and possibly a properly used Kagawa will always be dangerous.

Lets laugh at Chelsea thread = us losing out on CL to them because they won the fucking thing, then us getting their sacked manager who proceeded to get sacked by us, meanwhile they have become one of the best teams in the league whilst conforming to financial fair play.

Can't agree more with this. These sort of threads are why most other fans think we are a bunch of knobs. Lets start winning stuff before we start mocking others. I know some think its just banter and I will have banter with mates in the pub but this sort of thing on a public site is just embarrassing. Lets start supporting our team and stop worrying about the rest

I think it stems from when we got beaten about 10 years ago by Southampton in the cup and a few papers put a headline along the lines of "let's all laugh at Tottenham". I guess it's just a defence mechanism, but it is just a bit of harmless fun.
I don't get why some people are so convinced United will do well next season. Unless RVP has another wonder season and stays fit, I'm not sure that they will make the top four. LVG needs to get used to the Prem, they haven't made any great signings, they have lost three top defenders and their midfield is still quite weak.

I actually think they'll do really well next season because their squad is good, manager has a reputation, and like Pool last season, have no European football.

Rooney is quality in the Prem though and playing as a striker is guaranteed to get 20+ IMO. None of this midfielder DLP bollocks.
Mata will benefit from the new system as it gives him more space with the majority of play going down the wings. Utd have pacey Wide men who are well suited to the current set up.
They have obvious defence issues but the 3 at the back helps fix and assuming they sign Vermalen they will be tough to score against. De Gea is one of the best in the league.
Still weak in CM but the current formation takes away the importance here. Clever from LVG.
IMO they will do well.

Utd are a dark horse this season. Potentially they have some excellent options up front but I feel their squad isn't as strong as it needs to be.
Without European football this might not be such a problem this season.
We're looking for 4th and have some stiff competition.
