Wonder how Eriksen feels about the role he was asked to play in the first half, one of the most influential midfield players the PL has ever seen and he was asked to play some ludicrous false 9 role .
Lot of people wanted ETH at Spurs glad we didn't get him , he has virtually zero experience outside the Dutch league both as a player or manager, with ETH in charge of United that should be one less team threatening top 4 this season

Just want to say that I and a few others stated this at the time and were ridiculed for suggesting that being decent at Ajax doesn't equate to the premier league.

I was well aboard the potter train and if Conte leaves in the future, I'll be well and truly back on it.

I even got attacked for suggesting that the fucking rangers manager might also not be suited for the job for the exact same reasons, but the same fucking nutjobs were wheeling out the stats. Turns out he's not the Messiah as well.

Everyone is on the hype train and they get on it at every stop and never learn.

All we get is a, I was wrong on that one lads. Then they continue with their half baked fucking turd of an idea that could have been produced by a 3 year old.

Will they learn? Will they bollocks.

Anyway, luckily for us (and the rest of the premiership) United are also on the hype train at every stop (see Ronaldo, Sanchez, fdj etc..).

Although if the rumours of aranautuvic and rabiot are true their train has just exploded.

it weirdly feels like they are chopping ten haags legs out from under him before he even really starts. Just get a feeling they are buying time until they bring Rooney in as manager.

I don't think they will ever have the right structures in place. I also think personally that the more reign Poch gets, the worse he does because he's shit at scouting players.

Poch won't sort them out. He might make them a bit better but United will never reach previous heights while the Glazers are their owners and the whole structure of the club hierarchy is a complete mess. One manager won't change that.

Okay I've just listened to a clip on Sky where kaveh Solhekol explains the United situation and I now understand why you've both said what you said above...... The Glazers bought them for 600 Million which they took out a loan for....but what I didn't know is they still owe that 600 million as a club all these years later... that is absolutely crazy.

I will never get over half this forum on their knees for gerrard, Liverpool legend with a bang average cv. Honestly even if he did well which would never happen every conversation would be around one of our top six rivals. Embarrassing from all involved

Genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if they are bottom half or even worse. ETH looks like a rabbit in the head lights. There’s very little quality in the squad and the quality there is looks shot. Mind boggling how they’ve ended up in this state.

With conte after about 3 days training we had a game, straight away you could tell how he wanted us to play and that was with players he mostly didn’t want.
Ten hag has had 3 months and I genuinely couldn’t tell you if there was a system there or not.

They went through hoops to justify his pedigree...there he is at Villa battling along..... nothing special. Same with XG Potter. We beyond these types of managers. We've out grown them.

I was with you until you said XG Potter for when Conte leaves. :cautious:

I think you have to look at this in context of who else were we looking at at the time. Flick went to Bayern, Conte had declared himself out, PSG were refusing to talk re Poch, and the realistic choices were talking to were ETH, Gattusso, Nuno, Fonsecca etc. Gerrard in comparison was a winner both as player and manager and someone who knew the league. Hardly surprising some fans were calling for him over the others.

One of their biggest problems is that they are becoming less and less attractive to the best players as time goes by. Go back a few years and they would all sign on the dotted line simply because it was Man Utd. Fast forward to today, and quality players are quickly losing their shine at Utd. and potential signings will be well aware of that. Players like Sancho, Van der Beek, Telles have gone downhill rapidly almost since the day they signed.

By that logic there are only about six managers in the world who are good enough for us. Good luck with that.

How will any manager prove themselves at the top level if they aren't given a chance?
