This. And that would have been fine with its member clubs provided the league sufficiently greased the wheel & wet their beaks. But they didnt, hence the very real backlash. I suspect that the PL will eventually do so to soothe relations & keep the big 6 happy. Especially if they dont want that Super League to go ahead.

I think they’ll do it because they won’t want a breakaway.

I would love that banner at our game v Newcastle. Total respect for the Holmesdale guys. Be happy to contribute to any crowdfunding in the event of any of these guys being unjustly prosecuted.

Yep let's waste police time investigating the banner and not the large numbers of crooks and State agents being allowed to run football teams...

The police have to investigate any complaint. It doesn't mean anything will come of it and I hope that's the case as I cant see what they have done wrong.

Lots of Newcastle fans were gleefully quoting the tweet saying the police will be seeing you so they have clearly reported it.

Just how fucking dumb and scummy are Newcastle fans by the way.

Common sense makes you think nothing will be don’t but unfortunately we don’t live in common sense times.

I'm finding the whataboutery hilarious. There is one guy in social media who is telling me that Joe Lewis' Argentinian land dispute is comparable to the Saudi's human rights abuses ?

We had someone on here trying to push that agenda. People are ridiculous.

Swiss Ramble has done a twitter thread on how Newcastle could start to spend the cash and stay within FFP rules. It’s depressing though. They’ll soon be up there.

Genuinely don’t see difference between what Everton have done in last 5 years and what Newcastle can do. Everton have spent over half a billion and got nowhere. Tbh we’ve spent £350m in 3 seasons and gone backwards. Yes they are likely to improve in next 5 years. But they will have to get everything right to be in and around top 4/top 6 by then. They will likely get there eventually but really could take a decade.

Newcastles problem is that they are starting from such a low base.

They have no real good foundation of players. City had a few that you could say were instrumental in the transition (Richards, Hart, Zabaleta, Wright Phillips, Kompany)

Newcastle have a championship level squad and due to this combined with the threat of relegation, it'll be really hard for them to convince certain players to go there.

Secondly, their academy and footballing structure is a mess and needs a major overhaul. That takes a long time.

Even City had some things going on at the beginning that were good.

But what they can do to expedite the process is throw as much money as humanly possible at a top coach, get in a Conte or a Pep or pretty much anyone and get them to join in, that will help with recruitment/winning a trophy, and before anyone says neither of them would join I get that they might not but someone of that caliber wouldn't mind the looks of 15 mil a year and complete control of transfers + they all have egos they could think they are the ones to cement themselves by taking a team like that to the champions league

But could Conte or Pep actually take a relegation team and make them into champions. Neither have ever done that, they’ve always gone it to clubs that were at least top 4. I’d love to see what would happen if you appointed Conte right now but I really don’t think he’d take it especially with United possibly on horizon.
