I have sympathy for him after the Merson doc. Clearly not about money, more chasing dopamine rushes.
I have sympathy for what Merson said and what he’s been though. But I still think someone betting on football should be punished, it opens the door to all sorts of dodgy stuff like betting on your own games and bookings etc.

I get they’re addicted and I get that they almost can’t help themselves, but it’s not like there aren’t myriad other things they could bet on without getting themselves in trouble like this.

Yes, what Tonoli is accused of is close to match fixing.

You know, we all have dopamine rushes but some of us control it because not doing so could lead to breaking trust, rules or even the law.

Where do you draw the line at sympathy unless someone is so mentally impaired that they need incarceration to protect potential victims.

Sounds harsh. Very harsh. But why should there be different rules for people.

If Newcastle were hoping to use this tour to grow their brand and find new fans down under, it looks like it may backfire.

Put out a youth team against the A-League All-Stars and got pumped. Wearing the Saudi Arabia kit, too. Deserved.

I was there to watch this game - the A League team were literally just walking through them towards the end of the game. Could have been a much higher score with some better finishing.

I know it was a bunch of kids Newcastle put out - but still, they should have done much better. his A League Allstars team is a group of players pulled together from across the league who don’t ever play together, and missing players from the two best teams in the league as they are playing their grand final on Saturday.

Newcastle Fans though - wow . They packed out their active support section and didn’t stop singing and supporting the club for the whole game and beyond the final whistle. Fantastic support.

One A League player to watch out for Nestory Irankunda - has been snapped up by Bayern, what a player.

(Any married man should forget his mistakes, there's no use in two people remembering the same thing. )

And how true
