I think the point is that fans like to dream, they need to have some hope.

Rafa has won trophies with big clubs and also with the likes of Valencia. They had hope, even if unrealistic.

Bruce seems like a manager who will at best stabilise the club.

He doesn’t deserve any hate but I can understand Newcastle fans not wanting him, even before the new money.
Yeah true enough, still feel bad for the guy.

Rafa seemed to get an easy ride from them, and he didn’t really do that much better than Bruce, or play any more attractive football.
What Rafa did was he got the city, and what the club means to it. He did a lot in the community, and he always spoke for the fans, often against his own employer. Promotion helped... It doesn't matter what it is, if your club wins something, the fans will respond.

Poor old Brucie. Think he’s had the shitty end of the stick in Newcastle. A boyhood Newcastle fan, but the fans have hated him and Ashley hasn’t given him the funds to do his job.

Really hope Newcastle fuck up the next appointment.
Bruce is a Bruce fan, that's all. Absolutely no loyalty to nobody.

I think people are brushing over this a bit.

The abuse is ridiculous and totally unjustified.

However, Bruce has consistently dumped clubs and shown no loyalty when another opportunity presents itself. So he or others can't expect loyalty the other way.

And let's be honest. He's a pretty uninspiring and boring coach who lacks any real identity and is definitely part of that old guard (Allardyce, Pulis, Pardew)

The abuse is way over the top by Newcastle fans. Now there on a high horse using the landlord thing against him. Obviously completely forgetting they can never, ever use the morality play again when they suck the dicks of a terror funding, anti human rights bunch that are quite fond of pulling off political hit jobs on foreign soil. I hope they go down in a steaming pile of shit. But i fear when it comes down to it, pockets will be lined & wheels will be greased by that lot to keep them up.

He's dropped other clubs and hasn't shown loyalty~ but one of my mates said he hated Bruce because he'd been at Sunderland.
IMHO~the level of abuse went too far.

OMDS that statement “ if they wouldn’t ordinarily wear it “ ? Bruce calling himself a cabbage head. I’ve a feeling next couple years gonna be pure bants. Make most of it as eventually they will get it right. By the way the main Newcastle forum is pretty amusing.

To be honest, in surprised this hasn't been mentioned in the press at all before now.
I mean, if a white celeb goes out in a turban, the tabloids are screaming "cultural appropriation".
It felt like double standards that no one was calling out fat geordies in tea-towels.

Surprised the horse would even let them on given their history with them...

The PL have been bullied. Pure and simple.
This. And that would have been fine with its member clubs provided the league sufficiently greased the wheel & wet their beaks. But they didnt, hence the very real backlash. I suspect that the PL will eventually do so to soothe relations & keep the big 6 happy. Especially if they dont want that Super League to go ahead.
