It's perseverance, determination and a tactical change. Calling them lucky just smacks of sour grapes.
Hah. I still agree to your first sentence, unfortunately not the dismissive second. But let's keep this short and agree to disagree on the luck factor.

Vai Flamengo!!

That should not be easy for Liverpool, Flamengo have been practically unbeatable since Jorge Jesus went there. Although Liverpool have themselves. But it won't be easy.

I don’t really care about the result but would very much like the Brazilians to kick the living shit out of Mane and Salah’s ankles.

Sorry if this has been covered, but is this competition any more prestigious than, say, the Peace Cup or Audi Cup? Is it just bigger sponsors? I mean, i know it's got the FIFA label on it, but overall it does seem to be a bit of a publicity stunt/money grab for FIFA which, imo, places this no more important than any of the pre-season friendly invitationals that go on.

Whether it came from men with riyals in their eyes upstairs or whether Klopp genuinely feels this tourney is that important, to prioritise this over the league cup is a tough one to justify for me. If it's the latter then this is the first bizarre/non-brilliant thing Klopp has done while in charge of that team.

But i suppose everybody's got a price.

So who’s this Gimpamino they’re supposed to be signing?
He looks a great fit of the little I’ve seen, runs his nuts off. Pretty cheap also. They have played his team recently and he looked quality, caused them serious problems at the back.

New signing has showed real quality in the champions league this season, that team will be picked apart in Jan/Summer transfer window imo

Liverpool fans losing their minds over this new signing. Twitter has gone into overdrive with Liverpool fans saying he is better than Son and will eclipse his impact in the Premier League.

Got to love Liverpool fans. They're a special bunch :)

Better than Son. Where do they find these people and why are they always drawn toward Liverpool? :ROFLMAO:

He could turn out to be brilliant, emphasis on could. He has had a meteoric rise, he wasn't even in the Japan squad at the World Cup last year and it wasn't because of injury, he won two caps in 2015 and then no more before after the 2018 tournament. And remember how much Son struggled in his first season with us, even though he came from an objectively much tougher league.

9 goals and 11 assists in 22 appearances this season. Only 24, with champions league experience, and only £7.25M? Forget about comparing him to Son, signing a player of his quality at such a bargain price is an absolute no-brainer.

Absoulte no-brainer indeed, no arguments there, but he will most likely have to be given time and Pool fans acting like he's the second coming will surely be disappointed initially.

I'll be amazed if he contributes heavily this season, but if he does I'll hold up my hands and say I was proved wrong.

What impresses me about this recruitment is that the deal has been done and everything signed in advance of the transfer window even opening, even though it can't be fully formalised or ratified till January. I'd hope we as a club would do the same with our targets rather than dragging on negotiations right until the end of the transfer window (like Dybala or Moutinho), to be more proactive in bringing in pre-identified targets rather than waiting opportunistically to see who might come available.

He might not get much game time but that could depend on injuries or rotation. Klopp had quite a settled first team but now they are playing so many games they needed more squad depth, and signings like this help their depth of options just like Origi, Shaqiri and Lallana can come off the bench and do a job.
