Interesting that because Klopp and Guardiola have made a fuss about 5 subs, it’s dominating the news this week. If that was Dyche and Potter*, we wouldn’t even be talking about it.

I bet they change the rule too. Not sure how I feel about it because it’s really unfair on the lower clubs. I don’t know if I can take player welfare as an excuse too. Both Klopp and Guardiola mentioned Trent Alexander’s injury but injuries happen all the time anyway. It’s not like Klopp wanted to take him off before he got injured but couldn’t because he used all 3 subs. And there’s always been a risk of injury after using all 3 subs, that’s part of the game. I think it’ll be good for us because we have a great squad nowadays but I don’t think it’s particularly fair.

*Graham not Harry. If Harry Potter was talking about 5 subs then it would deservedly make news.

I wasn't happy when they pointed at us and referred to our fixture congestion. He didn't comment at the time, and only cares now because it suits his team now,

He's only missing Brighton and Wolves, not a massive thing really, he'll be back way before our match against them.

He'll miss their game against Leicester as well. And at least one champions League game.

I haven't got much sympathy for the managers who are complaining. They've got big squads, they should rotate players if they're worried that they're playing too many games.

Last year we were told "that is why you need squad depth" every time an injury was mentioned. Let's see how their fans and the media react now.

Yep people always ignore that as soon as you get 1 injury in a position it reduces your ability to rotate in that area and then players have to play every game and suffer from the accumulation and that's how you get an injury crisis in a particular position.

To be honest if you were given the choice of an injury crisis in defence (it’s still only 3 players BTW) or an injury crisis in attack most teams would choose to keep their attackers fit. Last season we lost our entire attack at one point so my sympathy levels for the gobshites is pretty much zero.

Yep. If their whole front three were wiped out for an extended period I think it would be worse for them than losing their defence.

How bad in the injury, normally the media over sensationalise things, anyone know yet?
