The most bizarre thing of all is they just signed Aubameyang who was clearly a Tuchel target.

Then sack Tuchel days later. If Tuchel wasn't targeting and signing the players, who was? It does seem like things are a mess there.
I think he was possibly the only all out Tuchel target, and they only turned to him when they couldn't get the clubs choices.

I do like the fact that Tuchel was asked about Aubameyang's attitude at various other clubs the other day and his reply was "yes, but he's never been a problem for me".

That does seem to make more sense. The one thing is Tuchel does seem a bit highly strung and it's not the firs time he's fallen out with the board and owners of clubs.

I guess Tuchel wasn't comfortable doing the extra responsibilities Boehly wanted him to do a,d seeing as results and performances weren't good, they obviously feel change was required.

It will be a shame if Potter goes there, I fear he could be an excellent appointment IF given time. Knowing Chelsea, they always land on their feet.
Yeah but he says there the club felt he could have helped more to secure signings of players they missed out on, but I'm sure if he'd of really wanted those players he would have done everything he could to get them. I think that tells us everything about who was picking the players.

This was always going to happen unless Tuchel pulled up trees. New owners investing 4.25 billion plus a huge amount in the transfer market, seemingly doing it themselves. New ownership want their own man who will work within the parameters they set. Not sure why anyone is surprised especially on the back of a lot of weak results.
If they get Potter they will be more dangerous than ever. So I hope they go for the likes of Zidane or Rogers

Yeah if they're patient with him it could be a masterstroke. The squad's flexibility and depth really suits him - given time I think he could do very well there.

From a Spurs POV, if they do get him, we've just got to hope the job is that one step too big and/or Chelsea are impatient. He's never managed big players before, never managed in the CL, and will have hardly any serious time on the training pitch until the World Cup. It might just be a bit too much and, despite what Boehly tells him in the interview, if they don't quality for the CL next season and/or they crash out in the group stages this year, he won't be happy at all.

But as you say, knowing Chelsea he'll slot straight in, the players will all love him and the bastard will immediately win them the Champions League...

I'm not going to lie, I'll miss having Tuchel as an antagonist. He is such a right fit for what a Chelsea manager should be.

I actually don't mind Tuchel so much, but what's great about him is that it's so easy to push his buttons and get a reaction, as Conte proved.
