Instead of firmino. He gets way to much gype for being this ceeative genius because he only gets 5 goals a season.

That is a spectacular lack of understanding.

I'm curious to see how balanced Chelsea are going to be in the coming season. As with so many clubs it's a very attack minded team of late with where they're putting their money etc...

Chelsea still need some defensive help so obviously, whilst Werner joining that stacked attacking line up is a massive boost, they do have some defensive frailties to fix up.

They've got Ziyech joining next season as well. They're building a very good team if they get Werner.
Adding Chilwell to the mix makes them a very talented squad indeed but what Lampard will need to work out is a cohesive 11 and more importantly keeping a large squad happy.

Still need some further defensive reinforcements at CB but nevertheless, they are a team back on the up unfortunately for us.

If they get Chilwell or Telles they'll be much stronger next year. Reece James looks like he could be a huge talent as well.

To be fair we only need a few signings ourselves. I'm just not sure what our budget is after we took out that huge loan yesterday.

This must signal the end of Giroud, so hold onto your hats for the summer links!

Lampard will let Batshuayi go before Giroud, Giroud's performances in the weeks before lockdown made sure of that.

Starting to feel a little jealous of Chelsea, I must admit. I think Lampard is a brilliant young manager and they're making smart signings. Reminds me of what we were a few years ago, minus the investment.

Firminio is very important to their system though and also brings the best out of Salah and Mane.

With a more out and out centre forward in team the wingers would not be such a goal threat.

Firminio also averages about 12 league goals per season too lol ;-)

This is what annoys me.

People say no one will come to us because of Kane but Abraham’s has clearly been first choice for them yet they bring Werner in.

Yes I know Kane is a lot more high profile (at the moment) but Abraham is pretty much their number 1 striker so how are both gonna play?

I remain unconvinced by Lampard - they weren't exactly setting the world alight before COVID hit.

They’ll achieve success with this manager/team, and become the perfect example of what we could have become, had we built upon our solid start with Poch, young manager and young team, core of English players - had we actually invested in small numbers of high quality additions in areas of weakness.

There’s nothing revolutionary about what they’re doing - we just decided not to do it.

We had four years of damn near perfect squad building starting in the summer of 2014 on, and we completely fucked it at the final (and I believe it really was the final) hurdle and it just unravelled from there.

Oh to go back to that post WC summer knowing what would happen if the club didn't act.

Coinciding with Poch wanting more control over transfers and Mitchell getting annoyed with us not pushing the button in a few players he wanted us to sign. Levy should of over ruled Poch and brought another transfer director in. In hindsight, however much that pissed off Poch at the time, it was a mistake.

Any idea who these players were Mitchell wanted to sign?
