I know we been there before but would love Levi to put in a £20 Mil bid for a deadline day swoop .... Damiao and Eriksen for the price of Willian/Hulk would be amazing... He is more of a Benteke type striker with pace and power and a few tricks so would complement Soldado the poacher... I am sure Ade will be off this window or next and keep Defoe and Kane as backup... We need at least 4 strikers to cover all the competitions, injuries, loss of form etc...

After seeing Chelsk, Utd, Liverpool and City I don`t see why we cant challenge for the league.

He might be worthwhile looking at in January.

It would give his club some more time for the season (I think the season in Brazil ends in December).

We could use the time to get all the current new signings (and any other incomings) settled and gelled before we add more and Baldini and co can work on more pressing targets (depends on what they consider more urgent).

If we sell Ade/Defoe or loan out Kane we could operate OK with 3 strikers until January. We could even then loan out Kane in January if not already done so as 3 top quality strikers should be OK cover for 1 forward position (hopefully giving Kane some first team football).

Damiao is worth 15m only in the sense that strikers are expensive. That's the absolute most I'd be okay with us paying for him.

Falcao and Cavani went for over £50 mil each this summer so in the current market he is easily worth £20 mil. Damiao has scored 69 goals in 126 appearances for Internacional and is only 23 years old. He would score 15 - 20 goals no problem in the premier league. He also offers something different to Soldado and Defoe... he reminds me a bit of the Brazilian Ronaldo but obviously not on the same level yet... There are rumours that if Ade goes then we will be back in for him... hope its true!!!

I would love us to close this absolutely beautiful window by a smart and cheap (last minute dot com) signing of Damiao.
IMHO, that (considering that we also manage to get Eriksen as we hope to do) will turn us into a true top 3 contender in the EPL, whereas right now a realistic goal is 4th place (or better).
I know there are some lofty expectations for us this year, but imo we can never underestimate the filthy goons, and the bin dippers, either.
However, if we have a top quality younger CF (like Damiao or even Muriel) backing up Soldado, we won't be fazed by the likes of Scum, imho.

I didn't hear anything, but it wouldn't surprise me (as they are desperately scrambling, trying to patch up their squad).
I heard they're after some MF options, such as Guilavogui and/or Barry (if Cabaye doesn't work out), but a striker like Leandro makes sense as well (since Giroud is not all he cracked up to be, and Podolski injured his hamstring, AFAIK).

PS. I hope they don't steal him with a miserable little bid last minute dot com style. Those lousy cads.
