Kept saying we'd be back in at the end of the window. With the quotes today of strikers are a priority and being plural, I think it'll happen last week of window, if not be our deadline day deal.

Why on earth would we drop another £20 million on a striker who would want to play consistently? Unless we're going 4-4-2.

I agree but I guess many will argue that he's young, will need time to adapt and will still get plenty of game time - he'll be the long term future etc....meh.

I'd much rather use the money on Bernard, a creative wide forward type of signing.

With a defensive-looking midfield in a 4-3-3 (Dembele, Paulinho, Sandro) we could plausibly play Bale, Soldado and Leandro ahead of them.

Not saying it would work, but it would sure be fun! :D

Leandro Damião has snubbed down an offer from Southampton as he wants a club with a higher profile, confirms his agent.

If they stopped dicking around they could have had one.

Despite his potential, this lad is not being sold in the bracket we'd be keen to spend in now IMO. We have our 1st choice sorted, anything more than 10-15million for an understudy/2nd option would be silly for me.

I'd still love for this deal to happen although I just can't see it unless Inter come begging for us to take him for a reasonable fee. He won't have long left on his contract at this rate unless he's signed a new one at some point.

Agreed. I wouldn't be opposed to him coming now as he wouldn't be our primary attacking option and have to dal with all the pressure that would come along with it. Allowing him time to develop and adapt his game to the PL whilst Soldado takes on the role as our main attacking threat would probably be the best way to bring him in. Of course it would all depend on the price. I am guessing anymore incomings now will be on the condition of any outgoings so if we could get rid of a few of Parker, Liverore, Huddlestone, Benoit or Townsend then along with the money we got for Dempsey then I think a £10-15 milion should be tried. Though I also think a new LB is a higher priority as we still have Ade and Defoe as back up.

I'd prefer us to sign a striker that can play wide as well such as rebic or rodrigo

Also how does it work in Brazil and third party owners. Can players hand in transfer requests if they are that desperate to leave?

I don`t think there are any issues with 3rd party ownership with LD anymore, think Internacional bought them, on the other hand maybe there is and I`m just talking bollocks.

In theory yes, then the third party (who are normally quite pally with the agent) will try and accommodate. The third party isn't usually too bothered unless the club wants/has to buy them out, though obviously playing for a bigger club gains exposure/increases the value of their asset.

Havent seen that, the articles I've read still say third party ownership of 30%

Could be right, in fact I think it was Moutinho that Porto bought the 3rd party rights, that I`m thinking of, got a bit mixed up there.
