He plays a winger/secondary striker role as is. Which is what he has self described it as. Plus he has the skill set to suggest he can do it as well.So put Chadli in a role he's never ever played before then?

I really don't think we're buying anyone this window. It makes no sense to buy late as Poch would want any new addition to be in place as early as possible so that he can work with the squad.
Maybe the thinking is with Pritchard, Oduwa & Azzaoui coming through, we would rather have someone with experience and he has a different skillset to what Chadli has.Chadli's been better than him this season. I feel like you'd go for a guy like Mirallas if you know he's going to be an upgrade on what you have. He's got more pace than Chadli and he's obviously PL proven. Both of which are intriguing, but if he's not going to come in and add to the Starting XI instantly, does it not make more sense to go for a younger player with a higher ceiling that can still provide similar pace off the bench (For instance, Jean-Paul Boetius) and in the long run could become a player that is a starting XI player.

It did make some sense for Swans I suppose: they're basically safe from relegation, and they may have felt that Bony would push hard for a move in the summer which would really lower his value. They aren't likely to make top 6, so cash in, get reinforcements, and hit the ground running next season. Everton could do the same with Mirallas or McCarthy, but it would be sort of throwing in the towel for this season and trying to recover next year. Would be riskier for them too, as they are a ways behind Swansea and hovering pretty close to a true relegation battle at the moment. One might suggest that Everton would be a crazy bunch of ****s selling Mirallas to any club mid season, but then again Swansea did sell Bony. I still don't understand mid season selling of key players,
it just doesn't make sense to me. Risky risky business.

I wouldn't call Swansea basically safe from relegation. It's the Premier League, anything can happen. 2 losses for Swansea and 2 wins for Hull and all of a sudden, it's a different story, Swansea with only 5 points away from the zone. Swansea could get a hiding from the Saints. It did make some sense for Swans I suppose: they're basically safe from relegation, and they may have felt that Bony would push hard for a move in the summer which would really lower his value. I like him but i don't think he is amazing and at 27, which means he should be reaching his peak, i don't know if he is really all that much better then Chadli. Also I would be surprised if he would expect anything less then being a instant starter. Okay he has PL experience but personally i would prefer we went for Kono who is younger and cheaper.
And risk loosing more than a couple of million if you're relegated, no matter how unlikely it may be.You can squeeze an extra couple of million out in the mid season window.

He's not amazing, but he would make an instant impact, and he offers something different than our current crop of wingers. If we want to push for top 4 this season, this is the kind of signings we need to make.I like him but i don't think he is amazing and at 27, which means he should be reaching his peak, i don't know if he is really all that much better then Chadli.
