It seems to be more a case of Ashley plumps for Wise as DoF - I'm not sure Keegan knew anything about it. Which just goes to show what a fecking eejit Ashley is - a view widely held in the City of London.

Meanwhile, Keegan's tactical preparation for the Barcode's first Arse match was apparently nonexistent & laughable. And a big factor in Woodgate deciding to join a proper club with a proper coach. Keegan doesn't need another Mr Motivator at Newcastle; he needs someone who can devise and communicate a tactical plan to the players. Dennis Wise is patently incapable of doing this.

I'm so glad Ashley (and his mate Kemsley), didn't get their hands on our club. Dennis Wise @ Spurs would have been an absolute nightmare.

I was just saying that last line to my work mate as i read it (though more concerning Ashley than Kemmers) - agree with what you're saying as well, right now Barcodes need some real coaches there who know how to get a team working as a team, rather than a bunch of overpaid nuns.

 That is great.

No matter how bad Tottenham get at least we aren't Newcastle.

Why in God's name would you
1) hire Dennis Wise
2) get a director of football without consulting the manager, especially if the manager is a hell of a lot more popular with the fans then anyone else in that region
3) set up a DOF system. The system only works if you have got a bloody good director in the position and I doubt Wise is up to it

It's like watching Buster Keaton - they've ducked under the swinging ladder and dodged the plate glass only to step on the rake! Glad we got the right one from the Leeds dream management team!

I like where you're coming from 900 - but the thing about Buster Keaton was it was all meticulously planned.

And you'd PAY to see him!!

Wise is the fall guy for when Keegan fails. It's that simple.

Wise and Newcastle have apparently been brought together by Tony Jimenez, a property developer and friend of both Ashley and Kemsley, who is developing a relationship as a facilitator of deals and was involved in Juande Ramos's managerial move from Sevilla to Spurs.

It also transpires that Wise's wife is a lawyer. I'd imagine that could prove useful.

in ten years time said:
"Tony Jimenez, an ex-property developer, was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment and ordered to pay over £8.5mil in fines, as the FA finally got their man to bring a close to Lord Stevens' 25 year investigation into illegal payments in the game..."

dunno why, but that's the first thing i thought when i heard the name Jimenez - maybe i'm so sub-conciously racist i can't help myself

its actually quite a clever appointment, admitadley i dislike anything with vertical stripes, but keegan is pretty shaky when it comes to transfers and as many people who come between him and the purchase of players is a good thing for the club

that being siad though, wise is a ****
