Frederic Kanoute’s agent has exclusively revealed to setantasports.com that the Sevilla striker would fancy the opportunity to re-join Tottenham Hotspur and that Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli told him to call him back in December to discuss the situation.
Christophe Mongai also revealed that Milan and Fenerbahce recently approached him regarding an eventual move for the Lyon-born striker.
Kanoute has been linked with a return to White Harte Lane for almost a year, and Juande Ramos’ arrival at the North London club has put the Mali international back in the spotlight.
The 30-year-old played for Spurs from 2003 to 2005 before moving to La Liga and winning two Uefa Cups, Copa del Rey and the Spanish and European Super Cups.
Mongai has revealed that the prolific attacker has a great relationship with Ramos and would be delighted to settle in London.
“The door is open for Frederic Kanoute’s January move,” Mongai told setantasports.com.
“I have called Damien Comolli and he told me that he does not know yet if he wants to sign a striker. He asked me to call him back on December 15 to discuss the situation.
“I am sure than most of January’s transfers will be done in the last 15 days of the transfer window.
“Frederic loves London, his family too, he likes Tottenham very much and a return there in January is possible.
“Frederic has a very good relationship with Juande Ramos since their common Sevilla adventure. He is 30 but is not a tired player, like Patrick Kluivert for example.
“He feels fresh and can impress, but he will only move with a highly-rated status. During his first experience there he was not playing that often because the manager made him, Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe rotate.
“Milan and Fenerbahce called me regarding Frederic’s January plans. It has not been a surprise to me because he is a much demanded player.
“Sevilla want to rebuild their team and I have an appointment there next week. They are at the end of a cycle and I think that Kanoute and Daniel Alves are no longer indispensible.”
