Actually he played well in all 3 appearances he made. He's 20 yrs old, loads of potential.
He didnt really play all that great in his WC appearances bar last night. And didnt really play all that great in his prior US appearances. But i do agree that he has alot of potential. He'll be an automatic starter in Champions League one day, IMO. Maybe even by the time Russia rolls around.

Got injured in one of them if i am not mistaken.

He has played a total of what?.....70min or so with the USMNT, and 2 min with Bayern's senior side.

Kid seems to have talent, but unless people are regularly watching Bundesliga 3 matches i don't know that anyone will have a great read on him at this point.

I was talking about Yedlin, not Green, FYI.

Hey let's be fair here. This kid is pure German. Which means he might be good. So let's not let a fake Visa get in the way of our judgement.

Lennon has always been known for his pace and his tracking back on defense. Not a goal scorer or or someone who can cross the ball into the box. Anywho, Klinsmann took over 3 years ago. So you're essentially saying Lennon hasnt played a good game in 3 years.

Well, the last 2 years he hasn't been great. But before then he was probably one of our best, most exciting players

2 years ago he wasnt great. Last year he was plain shit. Rivaled Rose for our worst player. Under Harry he was good. He had aton of potential but never really lived up to it. We've been waitibg years for him to get better and he's just gotten worse.

Same period of time no? I thought you just confirmed that you've only been supporting since Klinsmann's U.S. era anyway, surely you weren't waiting before that?

Agreed. Only been playing fullback for 2.5 yrs. Huge progress thus far.

I was born in Germany. I'm not German. But okay, his mother's pussy was in American when she squeezed him out.

2 years ago aka 2 seasons ago, under andre. I started to watch some club football a few months before the last world cup and watched some spurs. Started to really get into spurs and watch spurs religiously about a year or so after that.

So it wasn't a "nice finish" when compared to one of the best goals of the tournament? Yea I guess I can't argue that
No it just wasn't a nice finish. He didn't take it cleanly whatsoever is my point. He didn't hit it right. Fortunately, it worked out for him. Like I said, I give him credit for seeing the space, making the run, and scoring. But he was closer to shanking it than hitting it cleanly and I won't say it was a nice finish like Ian Darke and Taylor Twellman would have you believe.

So you've been waiting a loooong time for him to get good

Seriously, he's not particularly good going forward anymore, for whatever reason, but please don't come in here and say that some 19 year old kid, whose only recognisable action in world football has been sliced a shot into the net, has done more in those 15 minutes than Lennon, who was a bright spark for us during a pretty mediocre time in the club's history..

Oh and just to be pedantic, as you're being so yourself, 2 years ago to the date, Lennon hadn't played under AVB yet, so that will be referring to his time under Harry. Cheers ;)

To your 1st and 3rd bits: Oh FFS, Lufti! You know what i mean!!!

As for the 2nd bit, Lennon cant particularly cross that good and has a very weak shot. Not to mention, he would never make the run Green did to get to the end of that ball. Green made a good cross the back post that yedlin was not able to get to, unfortunately. He was also creative in his passes.

I'd honestly rather him get the PT he needs in MLS then come over to Europe next season or in 2 years. If he comes too early, it could potentially screw up his whole development. He's only been playing right back for 2.5 years. He needs the playing time.

I can understand that but from a purely Spurs viewpoint we need to get in early or risk losing out. Probably not the thread for this though!

Since this became the DeAndre Yedlin thread, just an FYI that he signed for Roma. Roma have American ownership so there's no real surprise there. As a Yank, I think that's too much too fast but I hope it works out for him. Hopefully they'll loan him to a mid-table club where he can play more when he makes the move in January.

Don't see anything on either official site and Yedlin hasn't tweeted anything about it. I don't think it's anywhere close to done.
