He literally showed he can do more in one 15 minute stint than Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend have shown in their entire time at Spurs. Imagine a winger who can not only take on his man but can cross and shoot?

I thought he was a Lennon/Townsend Carbon copy. We love a shortarse winger though don't we so I suspect he will be on our radar.

Green is a promising one, but if he was good enough for us then 1. Bayern wouldn't want to sell and 2. If they did he would be incredibly expensive. Bayern are making a real push to become America's German team ahead of the Bundesliga being broadcast by Fox next year and they won't want to dump their only promising American player.

Now Deandre Yedlin...woof! He had our boy Vertonghen literally puking up his lunch. (Congrats to Jan and the boys, by the way. I still love you guys!)

If we're looking at anyone from Murica (fuck yeah), I'd like to take a longer look at Yedlin.

We shouldn't be looking at players based on one football match.

Then how would you tell if he played well in further matches if you're not looking at him? How does one scout a player without looking at them?

You absolutely should be looking at players after one match, particularly in the World cup against good opposition. But it's not just one match is it? It's 40 odd matches for Seattle as well.

I'm not saying we should sign him, I'm saying I'd like to take more looks at him. There's a difference.

I don't watch MLS, the first I've seen from the lad was his showing last night, which impressed me.

Spotting the space, making the run, the pass, those were the impressive elements. I've played since I could walk and that finish was not impressive, it was a total mishit and the only reason it went in was it was so off pace that it caught Courtois by surprise (like a change up serve in tennis). Compare it to the Cahill volley or maybe more reasonably, Xhaka's goal vs France.

So it wasn't a "nice finish" when compared to one of the best goals of the tournament? Yea I guess I can't argue that

I'm going to put forward a view that if he hits it how he was hoping to hit it, Courtois saves it. The mis-hit deceived the keeper.

Regardless of the goal, I personally don't think he would bring anything to our team.
The fact he's in the 2nd tier of German football says all we need to know.
He won't play for Bayern in the top flight!

I'd rather take Yedlin.

Good idea.
And he can become the Yidlin.

It doesn't really matter whether Courtois would've saved it or it would've gone crashing in if he had struck it cleanly. He sliced it so there's really no need to praise the finish. It would be like praising Danny Rose's scuffed shot against Hull. I'm sure he intended for that to fly into the bottom corner but he shanked it and it fell to Paulinho.

Bro, he didn't take on anybody, he just had one nice finish.

Even that was a slice. Let's be fair though, he's only supported Tottenham since Klinsmann became U.S. manager so he probably literally hasn't seen Lennon play a good game since being a fan

Actually he played well in all 3 appearances he made. He's 20 yrs old, loads of potential.
OK, so he played a combined total of 24 minutes in the other two games. Cool, that makes no difference to my opinion.

Got injured in one of them if i am not mistaken.

He has played a total of what?.....70min or so with the USMNT, and 2 min with Bayern's senior side.

Kid seems to have talent, but unless people are regularly watching Bundesliga 3 matches i don't know that anyone will have a great read on him at this point.

Lennon has always been known for his pace and his tracking back on defense. Not a goal scorer or or someone who can cross the ball into the box. Anywho, Klinsmann took over 3 years ago. So you're essentially saying Lennon hasnt played a good game in 3 years.
