Dier did well (nothing special) in the final , Rodon did well before that. Rodon shouldn't really have been dropped just because he was cup tied. The Saints game followed by the final made complete sense but Dier has been poor in too many games this season. As soon as the final was over Rodon should have been back in because he earned it prior to the final (not exactly his fault he was cup tied).

Somethings not right. He's not even making the bench

Mason can only manage by consensus given his level of experience - and he's dealing with national captains here.

If lloris rated rodon, then he'd be picked. But I think he prefers the devil he knows in Dier.
If mourinho was still here, then that is the last we'd ever see of Dier and Bale, and Reggie would be on the naughty step too. Mistakes/poor performances had consequences.

But the players are in control now and I can't imagine this team will change very much until the season ends.

Not sure I understand. He was dropped because he was cup tied. He was not allowed to play. What’s not to understand?
I'm referring to after the cup final and why he's still out in the cold. He's been dropped since then so no reason why he should still be out of the team and squad. Dier should only have played in the Saints game and the final because Rodon was suspended, he doesn't deserve to replace him completely.

This!

For the games after the final, even if Mason didn’t want to start Rodon (for whatever reason), he should, at least, have been on the bench, so that he would have been available to come on as a sub if needed.

Dier and Sanchez are proven failures. They are not good enough.
Sanchez, because of the cost, I accept there’s an argument for (but an argument against what you say too) but Dier a failure? £4m and 4 sessions of being an almost ever present producing at a very high level as we continually improved and recorded our three best premier league finishes does not make him a failure by any measure, despite the fact that right now he has regressed and become a poor player.

Tripped over himself today as soon as he was subbed on and still made a great tackle :ROFLMAO:

Big fan of the Roadman.

Been phenomenal at the back against Turkey.

Every match he plays for club and country he’s been fantastic (barring his one mistake against Salah)

About as reliable of a defender we could ask for. Should be starting for us this season
