Would rather we sign a cb who improves the first XI or just wait for one, not knocking this lad just want outright quality atm
To be fair he’s 22 - we should always be looking to pick up exciting potential if we think they could have an impact in the future. I love the win now approach of this window, but it doesn’t mean we stop making these sorts of signings altogether.

Can't say I've ever properly watched him play but the Swansea fans certainly seem to rate him. We'd have until 16th to get this done too so potentially a good back-up if we can't get anything done today.

1.93m as well ?

I think he'd cost a bit more than that

I know what you mean and it’s the approach we should be taking but I think we’ve got enough numbers wise personally, I’m sure others disagree, so don’t really feel the need for him atm unless we loaned him straight back.

Unless Tanganga’s injury is long term

Never heard of him but would be very disappointed if we can't get this one over the line.

No idea whether or not he’d be an upgrade on Foyth but if he counts as HG and is highly rated then worth a punt.

Am I right in thinking this deal could be completed in the next week as it’s between an EPL & EFL club?

Wasn’t Carter Vickers one of the best defenders in the Championship last season with Luton?

As a non-HG player we'd have to sacrifice another non-HG player to accommodate him in our European squad. [Likely one of Sissoko, Gedson, or Aurier this window IMO].

Does Joe Rodon, a player with no top flight experience, have the ability to come in and walk into our starting XI over all but one of Dier, Sanchez, Toby, or Tanganga? Possibly — there's quite a large sample of players who have successfully made the jump up to the EPL in recent seasons. However, unless Jose is certain Rodon can be his man, it probably is not worth offloading a trusted member of the squad for a player with potential at this point of our season.

Hopefully we'll just revisit the CB situation if needed in January if we're unable to get a starting XI calibre centre back this window.

He is HG as far as domestic competition is concerned.

Also, just read that he’s 6’4”.

What a shithouse, sign him up Danny Boy.

I did wonder if we might look at some championship players seeing as the window is open for longer. We could sign 1 or 2 and keep them at their clubs on loan for the rest of the season.

yeah me too. Would make sense. Pick up some young players with potential at a time when clubs need the money. Sign and loan back for the season.

I live just outside Swansea, got a lot of friends who are season ticket holders. He is very highly thought of. Just had a text off one asking if we are signing Skriniar. Think he's worried.

Swansea are a selling club if you put the money down they will sell (as we saw with Dan James). I don't see us doing the deal after the first window shuts as he will miss the Europa registration date so is very unlikely to get any game time.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me unless we plan to leave one of Dier, Sanchez or Toby out of the Euro squad.

Totally agree with you, but today with the Skriniar links were squashed so far and I saw that Tanganga is pulling out of the U21 England squad, I was a bit panicked as I think we're a CB injury away from being thin in this position. I would love a quality signing in that position if possible, but also wouldn't mind a signing with potential as well.

I would just hate for our season to be derailed because 1-2 fit CBs running on fumes.
