I think he would if he got to play in the PL each week at another club on loan to get some regular game time and experience, so I'm surprised he's going to a lesser league like the French league.

It just feels to me that the people who coach him can see he has quality. Would have personally liked to see how he progressed after a full season and then decide. If he had a good season on loan we would get 17/18 million anyway

Fair play to the guy for making the move abroad. If he does well he’ll be back playing for us or another prem team will buy him. No way can Rennes afford him - that’s why it’s an option rather than obligation.

i think he’s a Premiership football but not in a top 4 club or one who wants to push for the title. The last seasons have been a waste for him when he needed to be playing 40 games a season.
