I would take Ballack since we have a very young midfield and we are favourites to sign cole now

I agree, definitely top four quality and provides the experience that our midfield, and perhaps whole squad need in order to make that step up.

I think if we could get his wages in at 60k with a nice sign on fee, and get him for a couple years it would be a excellent signing.

To be fair though, he'll probably be off to Bayern or a 'bigger' club than us.

Belletti, whose greatly underappreciated, is also leaving. Signing any or all of those players would add great experience as well as a winners mindset to our club.

Can't see him going to Arsenal though, he is far more suited to Utd or us than to the Woolwich gypsies.

i'd really like us to get ballack, he's a winner he knows how to win, he's also got the experience the likes of huddlestone, lennon don't have he could be vital for us in the same way davids was!

which is strange because SSN had us as favourites two hours with 4/6 on us signing him

SSN are probably referencing SKYbet. A lot of paper talk and rumours suggest Cole is going to Arsenal. SKY, in particular SSN, haven't really reported on Arsenals interest.

Perhaps I'm muddled, but I'm sure I read a article saying both Manure and Arsenal are put themselves out of the race to sign Joe Cole.

I'd be happy to sign them both. I think Ballack could be very good for us and add a few goals to our midfield.

Yes they have both said this.

Also if they are loosing Fabregas they really need a replacement for him, not another creative player - they already have Nasri, Rosicky and Arshavin, i can't see Cole having much of a place in that team.

Ballack could have a Davids-esque influence on our relatively young squad.

i like the idea of ballack, him, cole, richards and a CF would have our summer signings sorted.

Has Ballack actually lived up to the hype, or looked worth his £120k a week? Not really.

I've not been hugely convinced by Cole since his return from injury, either.

I agree with this. I really don't think Ballack is as good as he's made out to be.

If it was Essien and Cole then i'd be creaming, Ballack looked good before he had that big injury just before/after Jose left he had a thumping free kick in him and scored a lot from outside the box IIRC. Essien is gravy though shame he wants to stay at Chelsea.
