Spence won't be allowed to register as an under-21 player (or B List)- since he hasn't been at the club for 2 years.

Sessegnon is now 22 - and I think the CL rules allows for U21 to be registered on B-list.

Already well covered in his position , really need a left footed player who can play inside right

The responses to this are exactly the same as the last time we were linked - overhyped, has-been, not good enough, too expensive, etc.

Then he signed for West Ham on loan.

Lingard’s WH record: P16, G9, A4

As far as versatile squad options go, he’d be absolutely banging

I am pretty familiar with them - what do you think I am missing here?

It does assume that we will have 17 non-HG players, but even if we end up with less, Lingard's status would then be irrelevant.
Maybe I was just misunderstanding your point.

If we have 17 non-HG players (I think we have 19 now), then we are limited to 4 Association Trained players - and we already have 4 - if I include Spence.

So, there would be no room for a 5th player, like Lingard - in the CL roster.

Obviously there will still be player movement, in and out, before we have to register, and maybe we looked at Lingard as a HG alternative, if we go for a different RWB. Or, if we were to sell Doherty, that would open up a slot.

Not a chance this happens. He’s had a torrid few years in virtual obscurity for MU. Got a decent loan and Moyes got him up and running once more.

He will want to be first choice again. West Ham it is.

The issue is he truly believes he is miles better than he actually is. If you love him like West Han did then you may get a tune out of him for a while, but when his form dips and he gets dropped he is a totally different player.

If he came here, at most he would be a bit part player but would expect to start over Son/Richarlson.

we should steer massively clear imo

Can’t see it happening, but I’d 100% welcome him as an addition, without a doubt!

Only if both Lucas and Berwijn go, will give us a bit of wiggle room for an extra foreign player in the squad

Lingard needs to start every game to hit his form. He’s not good enough for our first 11. I’d like him as a squad player, but I dont think he’s perform well as a bit part off the bench.

I can see why we might be having a look given he’s free, knows the league, has versatility etc. I think if he was here and was happy to be a rotation option he might be a useful addition. He did very well for West Ham so he can do it. The question is whether he would be able to replicate that kind of form if he was coming in and out of the team. Or is he one of those players who needs to be playing regularly. I don’t think he can be totally written off because of what happened at Man U though. Man U have been a mess for most of his career. It’s hardly been circumstances in which most players would thrive.

This guy only plays when he needs a contract and I have heard he is not the best influence on younger players like Rashford.. won`t go into detail about that here though..
