Not sure how it would work financially. They’d want an awful lot for a player that isn’t a priority for us. A min of 65m would be my guess.

oh james madison is a proper **** but in the best way possible. Gets under players skin but more importantly has the game to back him being this way. He is what we hoped lamela would become. I remember we looked at him when he was at norwich and I'd love him in the squad also he's HG which we desperately need. Think of being able to bring him and Richarlison on if we are trailing a game. This is the depth we have been craving for

Exactly. Talented and would be a great addition, but for crazy money.

Wouldn’t really play in a CM2. Not perfect for an attacking 3.

He’s like Eriksen but not as creative. Don’t get me wrong, talented player, but there’s no way we’re shelling out that money for someone who doesn’t quite fit in the side

18 goals and 12 assists last year. 25 years old so coming into his prime. Who cares what he tweeted or said as a youngster, he is an incredibly talented player who would add a massive amount to our squad.

In my opinion, arguably the best creative midfielder we could go for. For him, the lure of Champions League, playing for Conte and the very real possibility of getting into that World Cup squad.

I will point out that Conte tends to want his most creative midfielder to play as a deep lying playmaker on the Jorginho/Brozovic mould. Could Maddison play there?

I’ve said about him a few times and the fact Gold keeps dropping his name every other week as a player we like.

But, if we didn’t go for eriksen, why would we go for Maddison? Wages would be a lot lower I guess, but then we’d still be paying a fee here.

In interviews he comes across as having a right chip on his shoulder. I’d be wary of that.

Because eriksen was never in contes plans and doesn’t have as much versatility or get stuck in lije conte wants.

yes maddison would be expensive, but he’s 25 and coming off his best season, whereas eriksen is 30 and wanted a 3 year contract with 30 m in bonuses and huge wages.

He was, he was just too expensive.

Have Leicester been linked with any players similar to Maddison (looking to replace him)??? If not, then I suspect there is nothing in this.

I posted this on here when we were linked before he went to Leicester.

I know people who dealt with him at Norwich, he’s a nice bloke. He done a lot for the local community and charities off his own back and never sort any recognition

Don’t let 2 stupid tweets and he’s poor dress sense cloud your judgment.

FWIW, I just can’t see it happening though, he’ll cost a small fortune.

Heard absolutely nothing on this recently but our interest does go all the way back to his Coventry days.

We are clearly looking at a creative mid who is a set piece specialist as Conte must feel (we all feel) that this is an area we lack in.

Putting aside his questionable tweets etc in the past, you can't argue he would be a fantastic addition to the squad. How achievable bringing him in though is a complete unknown for me.

Who cares about questionable tweets... We can have him delete the tweets as part of his announcement video ?

All for Maddison, but Sabitzer could be a cheaper option as well. Weren't we linked with him last year? And Bayern wants to sell? Would fit well in that position.

This is it in a nutshell for me. We lack that certain something, and clearly we're after someone of that ilk. He's not perfect for us though, as interesting as he'd be to add to the squad, he's not a perfect fit, and so I can't see us shelling out the small fortune they'd (almost certainly) want

18 goals and 12 assists last year, 25 years old, home grown - he'd cost a bomb

I think he is a good player and would be happy if we signed him. I am somewhat of a skeptic when it comes to Leicester allowing him to go. I find it very hard to believe as would weaken that team a great deal. I haven’t followed who they have signed or what moves they have made this summer, but I would be amazed they are considering letting Maddison go.

I just think they’ve gone a bit stale and need a rebuild. They’re falling away and some of their key players might just want a fresh challenge.
