He's asking how much they are looking for not much he'd go for

If we can get him for 40m I'll buy a bridge off you.

My guess, he will be over 60m and less than 80m

Yeah - I can see that price range. We have been keeping some money in reserve for a big signing though - hence Lenglet, and letting Spence run, imo. I think maybe we thought it would be a CB, but maybe it will be another big attacker.

If we get a Maddison-type player - that does give us two game changers off the bench, every time we have a healthy line-up.

I don't think we are that (60m+) interested. I think we have been encouraged to bid (opinion).

It might be like a players plus cash deal worth that much. But it would see us rating winks and ndombele at 20-25m each (or whoever).

My memory might be going but weren't Leicester on the ffp list after Everton?

It would be City level attacking depth.

I don't particularly want him, too much baggage. Definitely think we have better options if we're splashing £50m+.
What’s the baggage? Some anti-Spurs tweets when he was a child and a bad fashion sense?

I don’t get why people are saying this. He seems and incredibly mature and intelligent footballer and by all accounts a beloved teammate.

Posted earlier in this thread that if we could use Winks in the deal and supplement him with the Bergwijn money and get somewhere close, that would be an incredible result.
We said the same thing about Winks and Bergwijn with the Richarlison deal. I think it’s probably just easier to keep the buying and the selling separate. If Leicester really do have to sell to raise funds then they will want every penny they can get, much like Everton did.

My main concern is he doesn't defend/press really at all. No idea if that's coaching or system but you gotta put a lot of eggs in the Conte will make him defend/press in a way he's never shown before.

As an attacking midfield option who knows the league, room to grow, still something to prove? My knowledge of European football is minimal nowadays but I’m struggling to think of too many that are obtainable. Leicester need a big sale every summer to keep paying their over inflated wages, it’s their model unless their owners change their ways and that doesn’t look likely this summer with minimal movement transfer wise. If we bid for him at £50/60m they’d sell.

But my question has always been with him, where does he fit in our current formation? That’s my only problem with him, even in a 532 as one of the midfielders I’m not sure he’s right.

I don't think we do tbh

He got 18 goals and 12 assists last season in a struggling Leicester side.
This is it....

Creative, good at set pieces, can play in various positions, end product and premier league proven.

In fact eriksen aside I can't think of anyone else who wouldn't be a massive risk.

I mean I could but they all play for city.

They keen on Winks. According to what I know, nowhere near 50m. Just under two years left on his contract. We wouldn’t deal at 50 neither.

Rob said a few days ago that he has seen a list of AM targets the ITK shared behind closed doors and some of the names on that list he never thought we would have had a chance of getting a season or so ago. He is saying this from a position of knowledge is my read.

If it’s Maddison or paqueta I’d be going for Maddison, even though he wouldnt be my top choice, knows the league and putting up excellent numbers in a underperforming team last season
