Granted, but I’d contend that Poch has continually produced a team that is greater than the sum of its parts, and goes a long way to explaining where we are now.
Agree poch gets loads of credit.

Who are those people? I think even the most ardent Levy supporter will say he isn't perfect. Just because someone doesn't buy in to the doomsday scenario and argues against some of the OTT nonsense spouted on here, that doesn't mean they think our dear leader is perfect. He is far from it.
Yes. I’m one of them! I think he’s the best chairman in the league to be honest. However, I just wish he had a bit more guts when it came to the buying of players. All he has to do is increase his ambition (£s) by 20% and I reckon we’d see a massive improvement.

I mean people defend even the basics but I take your point, I don't think it's doomsday for 99% of us in here the reality is we have a great squad no matter if we sold alder, dembele and rose and got nobody in return but I think most of us are annoyed because ultimately it looks like we will be competing for top4 next season when these players are so so close to breaking through that ceiling but we are moving away from challenging from title now and we feel Poch and the players deserve more than that and ultimately why we won't blame them if they do what Walker has.

And what has that gotten us as far as silverware? Are you rooting for the team on the field or the business practices off it?

I understand there is a balance that has to be achieved but Christ some people act like they're talking about a stock portfolio rather than a football team.

if your that desperate for trophies your supporting the wrong club sorry, City, United, Liverpool and Chelsea have the funds to have a pretty strong 25 man squad, we have only just started to make big enough profits that are still not on a level they can operate on. we might now be able to match the later 2's wages, but when we go out to buy players we can only spend what we have.

there is a total of 4 trophies, the CL is pretty well out of our reach and we would need the luck Liverpool had with fixtures to get to even a Final. The Premier League depends on having the strength in depth and quality that every player knows they will be rotated and want to give 110% every week, and get lucky, or get lucky with very few fixtures and suffer very little on the injury front.

CoC to win that you need the luck of the draw, because even when you come up against a Prem team, with CL the main goal you really can't afford to risk your best players. yes winning the CoC would be great for us fans, and even the players, but in Poch's 1st season we got to the final and caused burn-out by the end of the season.

with the FA Cup, unfortunately that comes at the end of the season and when if any burn-out is occurring it will hit home around the semi stage.

I see lots of comments that we don't buy top players but honestly, the big names would be unlikely to come to Spurs anyway. Unlike our Premier League rivals, we have no real Champions League history or success. As much as I hate to say it, even the scum team (also in North London), while having not won it, they have been there pretty much every season and always proceed past the group stage. Man city have a longer CL record and can pay insane wages unlike us.

I don't believe Poch has stagnated at all. We are looking for players that can be developed into top players which has always been one of our strengths. I think we just need to have faith that the club is moving in the right direction, we will keep Poch and he will get us over the next hurdle. Most likely we will sign a couple of players that will leave people scratching their heads but will improve massively. Can't say if it will be Grealish or not but if he is on Poch's wishlist then I hope we turn things around and get him.

I think the problem we have is how much the money has rapidly increased in transfers compared to when we bought the likes of Lloris, Eriksen, Vertonghen how much would they be going for now.

Over the past 5 years we have spent roughly 76M each year and had the same with our incomings hence our net spend!

Although they say the new stadium will not impact our transfer budget it will and has already.

It's not so much specific names - Poch would have known where are our weaknesses lay from last season and must have identified at least one or two players that he would have felt could offer us something different and so far, zilch. I admire Levy but I think that some people are too accepting of whatever he does.

nah I hate him (Levy), I gave up my season ticket partly because of the players the bald headed twat (plus he knocked down WHL), but I also know that until we have been in the new stadium for a few years we are not going to have the funds to just chuck money at teams like the 4 I believe have more than us financially

now edited with the man I hate in brackets lol, I wub Poch

Levy has a reputation as a tough negotiator but the flip side of that is that he manages to piss so many other clubs off with his tactics that they avoid dealing with him at all costs. It's OK if you only want a single deal but in football it seems a bit short sighted to poison the well so regularly.

Is this based on anything or is it speculation?

Well fergy said he'd rather have a hip replacement than deal with Levy again, Lyon said they had never experienced such terrible negotiations saying they'd prefer not to deal with us again. So regardless of who said people have been on the record to say it.

The only club as far as i know we don't deal with is chelsea and the only agent is mendez (more because he uses clubs as stepping stones rather than because we were pissed at each other). Parish got the hump about bostok and utd about that left back (whom i can't remember) but we'd still deal with them.

He said it was more painful than his hip replacement. I'm not doubting Levy drives a hard bargain. I've not seen anything to suggest many clubs avoid doing business with him at all costs.

Lyons chairman said that the lloris deal was the toughest deal he'd negotiated. He never said that he'd never deal with us again. Seeing as we signed njie from them proves it. Fergies gone.

No, but I bet they all have a stiff drink before going into any meetings with him :D.

You're aware that united won't deal with us because they are arrogant and not because levy is a baller negotiator, right?

They believe they are entitled to any player in our squad. What's your solution to that?

I dont know why you spammed me he asked a question if anybody had been on record to say they didn't want to negotiate with Levy and I answered the question, I didn't say who was right or wrong.
