Now that the deal is definitely not going ahead, I fully expect Grealish to be observed as a hybrid of Ronaldinho and Messi, with a shit haircut.

Don't feel to dejected about this thread it's really should be good for another few hours levy bashing

Everyone has their right to tee off where ever and when ever, that much I have learnt, but quite honestly people aren't going to come up with much that hasn't been said before, it'll be more along the lines of how 'high' people feel the stakes are this time compared to last.

As I said, not everyone wanted Grealish in the first place. As a fan though, I worry more about the team than the bald man that infuriates so many.

I have to question how much we really wanted him now. It really was right there on a plate at one point. For whatever reason we just wouldn't pull the trigger.

What's odd about it is, if he was available for say 20-25M, why didn't we buy him even if we weren't that keen. As far as investments go, it would have been a no brainer

Someone give Freeki a call. Check in on her...

Interesting to read from Trix as to why we didn't pull the trigger early on...I wonder what's in store?

Admittedly from the itk's...our transfer policy's and leaks in the past have been plugged up for a while.

I'm still hopeful for our 3 signings - I'm really hopeful for a player of JG's caliber, if not higher.

Im not usuallly one to moan about what is going on at the club but this window is a fucking joke. We purport to be a big club but we really are starting to show ourselves up in the this transfer window in particular. Premier League clubs are fucking flush yet we are trying to extract value out of every fucking deal to the detriment of the team. 11 days left, I bet Poch is fucking thrilled with how brave we have been thus far.

I never once believed he was high on our list. Always smelled of a Levy special, never a big priority. Just didn't make sense.

Problem is with every signing from now the foreign clubs know they can ask for more when see how desperate the English clubs are getting as days tick by. Also the English clubs will be seeing how desperate we are now and raise prices, along with fact they are running out of time themselves if they needed to replace a player we want off them.

We're entering a world that Levy really won't want to be in and every missed target leads closer to that panic buy.

"Number one target for that position" apparently

If that's the case, pathetic from us
Pathetic for not signing him?

I think it’s more pathetic a club like Spurs with current regular CL football looking at Grealish as a number 1 target. Embarrassing. However I don’t believe he was top priority otherwise we would have wrapped up the deal for him weeks ago.

Pretty sure Hercules said he was Poch's top target, or something along those lines.

Don't know about that. What I do know is Grealish's people were given excuse after excuse as to why it was taking time.

Like I said I have to question just how much we really wanted him, considering how easy and close this was to push over the line.

Yeah spot on, the team is the issue and as others have said across the forum if we don't show ambition the team and manager will all go off to bigger clubs and even clubs that we've out performed in recent years as they know they will spend the money and have the ambition to win leagues and trophies before we will, I honestly think this is the last year this team stays together if we're trophyless. Even if we do pull off a major signing the fact that we've risked leaving it to this stage is ridiculous. It's too big a time in our clubs growth for fannying about like this.

I don't think this particular signing would have been the one to take us to the next level by the way. Just in general

Pathetic by us for not signing him when we had the chance if Herc’s information of him being Poch’s first choice in that position was correct.

I wanted us to aim higher this window, but it’s becoming pretty clear unless we pull something out our arse, that isn’t going to be happening.

I'll look forward to seeing who our real first choice is then and how much better than Grealish he is. I'm gonna assume the budget is higher than the 25m we were bidding on Grealish cos you aren't getting anyone worthwhile for that.
