Italy will see it as entering the Coloseum tomorrow night. Their players will relish the atmosphere as much as ours. First goal is crucial and I belive it'll go to Italy.

Heart is England but head says Italy 1-0.

No doubt between now and 8.00pm Sunday (GMT) we will have some banter in here concerning the final but it's nice to know that the vast majority of SC members are fans of good football also. Both teams are capable of producing very special moments and I cannot believe this will be 0-0 after 90 minutes. As I said earlier I think we have to win the game in 70 minutes because after that with the depth in your squad then the England team will only grow stronger as Italy weaken. Whatever happens it's great to see a Spurs player lead the England side onto the pitch for this long awaited final.

Huge day for our family / nation tomorrow as we also have a finalist at Wimbledon with Mario Berrettini facing Novak Djokovic. My mother loves tennis and sits glued to the screen for Wimbledon fortnight. I cannot imagine my parents reaction if somehow Italy manage to do the double. Maybe my Father will give my brothers and I the day off on Monday ! Now that would be something to remember. (y)

Wouldn't it make it the treble this year? Italy already won Eurovision.

England lucked out winning on some pretty poor refereeing. Sorry if that offends. They also had more opportunities to win but did not take them. Denmark defended well in extra time but came undone by a clear dive. It happens. Don’t blame Sterling. Blame the ref & VAR for buying it. Had 2 chances & still got it wrong. But did it cost Denmark the game? I dont know. No telling what would have happened in extra time 2H had England actually been trying to score instead of mailing it in for the whole of th15 minutes & aiming for the corner every time they had the ball.

In the final, Italy are quite clearly the best team in the tournament. But, annoyingly, England look destined. Doesnt hurt, of course, that they played home the entire fucking tournament bar the QF in the most insanely lucky draw of all time. Hope & pray Italy win. But I am pretty sure, and my luck dictates, England will.
That is a fun way of looking at the game through a narrow scope. And nearly as salty as Steve Nicol. Funny, you seem to overlook, we could have easily got a penalty earlier in the same game. And what the hell was Delaney still prancing around the field for after not receiving yellow cards for at least three fouls. Most other games he would have been off by HT.

Then again, I know u don’t care. As do seem a tad more focused on being a provocateur. Seems like you take quite a lot of pleasure out of it. Good for you. A man should take pleasure in their work and in what they enjoy. So keep on keepin on. Yet, I have to admit I’m so tired of how rancorous and rancid you are in most of your comments that the ol ignore button is very helpful in times like these. Toots.

The ultimate redemption for Gareth would be us winning the final on penalties. Though I don't think my heart could take 120 minutes then pens..

The thing that counts most of all in England's favour is that no country has ever done a Eurovision/major tournament double before :p

Italy play 4 at the back and their defenders are quite slow so some quick passing and pace will cut through them. Should be able to overrun their fullbacks. 2-0 england.

Nice to see this article in BBC news from the Italian viewpoint. I'll definitely be watching their coverage of the match now.

I was at a summer school in Cambridge when Italy won the World Cup in 2006, it was an international baccalaureate programme so there were students from all over the world on campus and quite a few Italians all aged 17/18. I will never forget how wildly they celebrated both the semi final and of course final win, it was a completely different level of passion.

Right then. I am going to keep my mind off all this by mowing the lawn, cooking a roast, popping round to the in laws for the Wimbledon final, and keeping the fook out of here until the morrow.

Three Lions, Bulldog spirit, cry God for Harry, England and Saint George and so forth.

As a long standing Spurs fan I’m used to not being allowed nice things. Therefore I fully expect a 1-0 Italian victory.

Like to take this opportunity to moan about the ko time.
So who thinks its a good idea to have it on a Sunday when the majority have to get up for work in the morning? No one other than those who make the decision.
Who thinks its a good idea to make ko at 8pm so fans can have a whole day drinking and then inevitably cause loads of trouble when their team loses? Its gonna happen. I'm expecting hooligan headlines if England lose.
So dumb you couldn't make it up.
So dumb that if you asked anyone with common sense whats the worst possible ko time you could come up with, this would be the kiddy.

UEFA don't force people to drink alcohol from 8am. That's on the fans themselves. If you feel you need to be drinking from that early to get excited and ready for a football match then you may have a problem. I've never understood it myself.

As for work, it's one day. Most places have sanctioned off days and late starts. Wouldn't put it past Boris to sanction a bank holiday if it happens. But if you can't get up the next morning due to a hangover after drinking for the whole day that's on you and not UEFA for deciding the KO time. You could just call in sick. I guarantee most up and down the country will do so anyway.

Lol great counter argument. Not.
Its not about forcing people to drink is it! Its about what WILL happen.
Seriously mate go ask the police if they're happy with this ko time. Its why cup finals arent evening kos.
You'll have people driving to work tomorrow over the drink drive limit and UEFA will have some responsibility for it happening.
'Some have got a day off' lol. Oh thats ok then. :cautious:
Edit, The thing about common sense is its not that common. Case and point.
