The problem with playing the charity shield overseas is that it'll be taking a game away from the fans... The seasons curtain raiser no less.

The Charity Shield is about as pointless a fixture as American Football's Pro-Bowl. So, I think it would be ideal to send the likes of the Woolwich and Manure to Hawaii just before the season proper starts. Fergie and Whinger could then have a good moan about how unfairly their teams are treated...

I see Quieroz is blaming Manure's crap performance in the derby on midweek international friendlies. Of course when Fergie takes his lads to the middle East for a midweek charity match, that doesn't affect their performances... :stupid:

I especially like the idea of moving this, ahem, 'showcase' game, since the berks in charge of football have started calling it 'The Community Shield'.

Moving this pointless, dull exhibition far away from the English football community appeals to me for some reason.

Even the supporters of the clubs involved don't seem to get that excited about it. Is anyone else in this country interested in it at all? I honestly can't remember the last time I bothered to watch it. Probably 1991.
