I've been sat on YouTube watching Spurs compilations and it got me thinking, we all have iconic Spurs Moment's that as soon as you mention them they create an instant mental image for you and every other Spurs fan around the World. Would be interesting to see how varied they are depending on what era we all look back on as our fondest/earliest etc.

So if I was to ask you to name the following (without providing an actual image) what would they be?

Most Mainstream (likely that others will share the same one) Iconic Image from your 'Spurs era' : For me it's Gazza '91 at Wembley

The Iconic Image which best sums up YOUR Spurs (relevant to the plight of Spurs at that time) era: Mine would be Ledley's tackle on Robben at the Lane

The earliest Spurs Moment that sticks in the memory: Mabbutt and Klinsmann's final game for Spurs v Southampton at the Lane or Allan Nielsen's goal at Wembley v Leicester City.

Probably Klinsmann's debut goal.

Being at the 5-0 ”we want you to stay” game v Newcastle will live long in the memory too.

He's the reason I became a Spurs fan. Love this photo.

As the OP mentions as well, Ledleys absolutely superb last ditch tackle on Robben is a big personal favourite.

"Mabbutt has gone forward with Stewart to the right, Lineker and Howells to the left.

Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? He is you know......

OHHHH I SAY......

Brilliant..........

That........... is...... schoolboys own stuff.

Ohhhhh I bet he can't even believe it. Is there anything left from this man to surprise us?

That is one of the finest free kicks this stadium has ever seen."

Barry Davis really did make that goal a little bit more special, shame he quit football commentary, but was great to hear his voice again during the Olympics (especially the women's Hockey :woot:).

The Gazza free-kick is up there for sure, although I was quite young at the time, still remember it so vividly.

Hoddle's last goal for us, that's got to be up there for me, too. Such a touching moment and possibly one of the best individual goals I've seen outside of Maradona's legit goal in '86.

One for me in recent memory has to be the Crouch header at Man City, watched the game with the best friends I have, all Spurs fans, there was about 10 of us and the noise we made after the goal and at the whistle probably could have be heard on the sub-continent. Just the sheer gravity of that game, screwing about it from Saturday until the Wednesday, it finally coming around and we got the result we both deserved and needed. It felt fucking amazing.

Ricky Villa. That goal. Nothing else comes close.

Especially considering I was behind the goal screaming "Shoot you bast....aaaaaaarghhhhhhhhhh" then being flung around the top tier at the Wembley with thousands of manic Spurs fans tossed like chaff in the wind.

A few for me - Roberts' equaliser in the UEFA cup final, Gazza's free kick and taking the North Bank and winning 1-3, beating Chelsea in the League Cup. Hope to see a few more too. If I were to choose one, it'd be the UEFA cup, that was a fantastic night.

I was there with you Kev and yeah, this is the moment for me. When he sold that dummy even I went the wrong way!!!! Crazy crazy times. The Semi Final replay at Highbury was mad too.

I'm sure most of you have seen the photo. I was about to hold the European Cup-Winners' Cup through the gates at WHL when the team brought the cup home. A never to be forgotten moment.

Close second was winning a draw to buy two face value Cup Final tickets in 1962 and going to Wembley to see us beat Burnley, even more so because my late dad and I went together. We had been to a mid-week game at the Lane on a dreary, rainy night and there was a half-time announcement that anyone braving the elements to support our team deserved the chance to go to Wembley and they called out some turnstile ticket numbers as a ballot. My number came up! If I remember correctly face value was 5/- (five shillings) per ticket and my dad was more than happy to pay up.

The league cup against the chavs was fantastic, never thought we had a hope but it really showed the country we were a serious team again.

However as a personal memory...

First away game in another country, first taste of European cup knock-out football. Chance to visit a major European city. Chance to visit one of the most famous grounds in the world and get shitfaced for 2 days with thousands of wonderful yids. Chance to see giants of the game like Seedorf, Gattuso, Ibrahimovic and others in the flesh.

And then Crouchy just thinks fuck it let's win it...

Real away was a fucking jolly aswell.

Memories that come straight to my mind:

- The crouch goal against Inter when Bale puts that sublime ball in
- Danny Rose goal v Arsenal
- Kyle Walker goal v Arsenal
- David Bentley goal v Arsenal
- Lennon's equaliser 4-4 against Arsenal
- Modric goal v Bolton
- The 1st time Klinsmann did his celebration in Spurs shirt
