You're basically adding up what a number of different ITKs have said. No ITK has said we will be signing 8 players and that's incredibly unrealistic - Mourinho said we'd only be looking at 2-3 positions and whilst it will probably end up being a bit higher than that, it's not going to go from 2 positions to 7.
The problem is everybody's treating feelings as facts.

You have no idea and I have no idea.

No one needs to be weirdly afraid of a higher number of additions, tho (y)

I'd love it if I was wrong. In your case, you have basically taken every rumour and assumed they are a definite target, hence @tiger666's 'lol'.

He'll probably end up staying...

He may well do. As I've previously stated, I know he comes on and gives his all. Can't fault his work rate, but personally I'd like to see him replaced with a player that gives us a bit more than work rate alone.

Of course, then you factor in his injury record, and it leads me to the point of 'thanks for the memories'.

There's already an 'Welcome to Arsenal' video on YT so this is a lost cause.. :D

Anyways.. He's a DM and a raw talent. "someone" dubbed him the new 'Patrick Vieira'. I even think Nice has been looking at acquiring him

I think the only remaining signing that is a given is RB. Everything else I think will depend on a combination of who is available (to us) and who we can sell. I can’t see another CM without one of Sissoko or Ndombele leaving and likewise can’t see an AM/ Winger without Lamela leaving.

Maybe a striker is less departure dependant but will still need the right player available at the right price.

Mourinho specifically told a couple of reporters after the last game of the season: "Will we sign 10 players? No. We will buy £100m players? No." Of course that doesn't mean things can't change but it seems much more likely that we will be signing four or five rather than nine or 10.

Even if we planning to sign 10 players or £100m players Mourinho won't say it. And it's obvious that other positions than RB and backup striker will depends on who will leave.

The ITK have said:

CB
RB (two)
LB (more recently)
AM
S

We’ve already signed a GK and a CM. There’s still another 6 areas that we’ve repeatedly been told we want to strengthen and are actively pursuing players in said positions.

On this topic of player trade offs, Lamela, for me I’d be looking some kind of deal sending him back to Roma with Schick coming the other day way.

Yeah but we hear lists like that every year, what we want and actually do are always different things. I think realistically we are looking at:

CM - Done
Backup goalie - Done
CB
RB (Singular)
backup striker

If we sign anything else i'll be pleasantly surprised and as @BringBack_leGin has said, we'll basically have to sell Ndombele to see any serious movements in the midfield department.

I hear you on the 'what we want and actually do are different', but from ITK it sounds like Jose is much more willing to actually work within the restrictions that Levy has, and identify alternative targets. I can't remember who it was (Trix maybe?) who said that we were working differently this transfer window due to Jose.
We may end up disappointed, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get most of what we're looking for.

Yeah but equally Trix never gave a list on positions which we were going to fill. It's important to not combine all the ITK which fits the narrative which suits what we want. I am hopeful this window but it remains to be seen whether we'll actually do business which would cover that large list of positions mentioned. The positions I mentioned seems more logical in terms of actual squad balance.

Infact to take this further, Dragon1 who isn't an ITK on this board was the one that claimed that large list of positions, he was also the ITK who claimed that Poch was going Barca. So if that's not evidence to say take everything with a pinch of salt then I don't know what is. I've personally found that the ITK that emanates from this site to be a bit more grounded and tends to come to pass.

I agree that it’s one thing wanting x amount of players and another signing said players. I think there’s a realistic chance of obtaining these players as we’ve had multiple pieces of ITK that these targets are both affordable and obtainable. Unlike previous windows where we’ve targeted high end players and more often than not failed to sign them. It’s much better to have a balanced squad than say 5 superstars but no depth in other key positions.

Doubt this will happen. We’re more than well stocked at CM now with Holjberg, Winks, Lo Celso, NDombele, Sissoko, Gedson. Not to mention Skipp who has just gone out in loan. It wouldn’t make any sense to add a young inexperienced DM when we have just loaned one out who has already shown potential to be a first team player.

9 new players at £99 million at average £11million each then?

If you're thinking in terms of the future, this guy makes perfect sense and you would probably look to move on Sissoko due to his contract status, age, and what you can probably get for him now versus in a couple of years.

You would then have DMs of Hojbjerg and Sangare, box-to-box MF of Winks, N'dombele, Gedson and AMs of Lo Celso and Dele - which can lead to some really creative partnerships depending on the opposition. I just can't really see it happening unless a few leave.
