I watched Rudiger play acting on Sons' red card. His reaction was 90% fiction - or at least an element of what I saw was dishonest. Maybe he is not the most accurate witness?

Another example in this thread of horseshit false equivalence to try and contort the situation into something you'd prefer. If you can find me a player in the entire football league who wouldnt react that exact same way he's entirely imaginary.

Guessing you don't get to many games? That's been in existence for several years.

A couple a season - I wish more. Perhaps they could advertise it on the big screens? (I guess you will tell me that they already do!)

Either that or he misheard the "who who who" from a section singing, who let the Yids out as monkey chants. I don't think he made it up to deflect from his reaction to Son and the red card like some people are suggesting.

At the end of the day there was a lot of noise and he heard something that sounded like monkey chants. There is a possibility that he actually did hear that, but it doesn't look likely evidence will be found to corroborate what he thought he heard and the most likely explanation is he misheard something that sounded like monkey noises. He shouldn't be made to apologise for reporting what he thought he heard, although joint statement from Chelsea and Tottenham would help

I agree 100% that he shouldn't be made to apologise (if no culprit(s) can be found, but if that happens, it would be jolly decent of him if he did.

I've been watching Spurs for nigh on 60 years and I have never ever heard racist chanting coming from our own fans, so I was shocked, ashamed and deeply embarrassed to hear those accusations, but when all the latest surveillance and CCTV equipment available to the security services at football grounds these days comes up with no evidence, I have to believe there isn't any, and that Rudiger did indeed mis-hear a perfectly innocent chant and interpreted it wrongly.

Nothing against him at all, in fact he did the right thing and reported it to the match official, but as it turns out his view was wrong on this occasion, and the club have been effectively vindicated.

If you buy a ticket for a match, the club emails you a match guide the day before the fixture. This is all in that email.

So he actually is related to smollett. Who would have thought. Are the authorities going to investigate him now, or can black people not be racist.? He's at the right club.

What are you talking about? How are they related?

Rudiger is half German with a mother from Sierra Leone and Smollet is American with and African-American mum and jewish father who's family is from Russia/Poland.

Even if they are related... well, we're ALL actually related, but still that is neither here not there, I don't really understand the point you are trying to make.

Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust said:
It’s now 12 days since allegations that Antonio Rüdiger was racially abused by the home crowd at the Premier League game between Spurs and Chelsea on Sunday 22 December.
In the interests of all concerned, there now needs to be a clear statement on what has been established by the investigation THFC announced immediately after the game.
Either there was racist abuse, or there wasn’t. If racist abuse occurred, the perpetrators must be punished. If none occurred, the reputation of Tottenham Hotspur fans must be cleared.
We understand the need for any investigation to be conducted properly. We acknowledge that the number of working days over the Christmas and New Year period presented a challenge. And we have been mindful of the need to refrain from comment while the investigation was in progress.
Too many people have rushed to judgement before being sure of the facts. But the lack of any update from either the Club or the Police after the initial Club statement on 23 December, other than a brief reference to the investigation being ongoing on 24 December, is leading to increasing levels of speculation and conjecture.
The time has come for the facts as they are known to be laid out. We have continuously urged for a swift conclusion throughout the festive period and now publicly call upon THFC and the Metropolitan Police to clarify as a matter of urgency what facts have been established, and what still remains to investigate.

Glad they've said something. I tweeted them in the days following the "incident" that the club's fans should receive an apology should no evidence of racist chanting be proved. At the moment it's looking like he misheard or something else has happened.

They both are black, racist, make up stories and are virtue signalling ass holes. Practically related in my book.

People seem to only be able to comprehend an event if there is clear hero/villain in it. If Rudiger felt he heard racist chants than he is well within his rights to report it to the ref so that he can pass the information along to the club/authorities to investigate. If he was incorrect that doesn't make him a bad person, doesn't make him have to apologise because I'd hope Rudiger would rather be pleasantly surprised that he was infact incorrect and thus wasn't racially abused than be proven right and have had to suffer racial abuse. That's how things should work, you report them if you feel there might have been something, it's investigated and a conclusion is drawn.

However for me the problem comes when third parties grab their pitchforks and cast judgement without any due process and get on their high horse so they can look like they were on the right side of the argument from the beginning and are critical of those who choose to wait for some evidence. It works the other way too with those who staunchly claim he was wrong before the evidence is concluded. If we can avoid the 3rd parties getting involved then the club wouldn't have been so heavily criticised and people wouldn't have got so defensive and now demand an apology from Rudiger when doesn't need to. The only people who should be saying sorry are those who found Spurs fans guilty before any due process.

Club statement on website. No evidence. Interesting it says either way- neither to corroborate or contradict. Nicely put- polite to Rudiger and we all know that if there is no evidence then we can no longer be accused of it.
Interesting to see what Oliver Holt makes of that.
