Why should ticket holders be guaranteed even FV back? If it's a genuine case of bad timing and you can't go, why would you expect to be "insured"?

The club should operate a simple process whereby these unwanted tickets become "returns" and IF they sell (at FV minus a couple of quid handling fee) you get the FV back.

Not every ticket on stubhub gets sold, so these tickets are far from "insured"

Two parties are making real money out of the stubhub set up, and that's the club and stub hub. I have sold my ticket on there twice, both times for good prices ( mainly because I'm a decent enough fella and like to pass over the discount I get on a ticket for being a season ticket holder, to fellow spurs fans ) but as usual, one party is blaming the other whilst ignoring the two genuine bastards in all of it!

I'm not saying you don't get greedy bastards taking the piss because you do, but that's few and far between.
Just had a look on there and it seems there are plenty of well priced tickets for City left on Wednesday.

I reckon some will just moan until they don't have to pay for memberships and season ticket members who can't make it not only drop their ticket round to them free of charge before games but they also give them a lift to the ground an hour or so before kick off, before picking them up an hour after to drop them home again!

What is? Not all tickets listed on there get sold, so far from "insured".

Its taken advantage of by a few greedy bastards who try and squeeze extra dough out of fellow Spurs fans.

The two parties making the most money out of it are the club and StubHub. The extra charges added to a listed ticket price are quite large.

And yes, there are still plenty of tickets left for Wednesdays game. Some well priced and some ridiculously overpriced.

Maybe he thought my last bit was, you know, about people wanting season ticket holders to pick them up and drop them off after the game...

Er, I wasn't being serious!;)

Good post. I've also sold my ticket twice when I was out of the country and sold at list price. This gave me a return of less than list after Stubhub charges. I've also purchased through Stubhub for friends and family and have always managed to buy at reasonable prices.

Maybe I read http://www.fsf.org.uk/blog/view/tottenham-hotspur-supporters-trust-launches-stop-stubhub-campaign, in particular this:

A system in which 91% of tickets are being sold at above face value, and substantially more in a significant number of cases, is not one that supporters' organisations can back.

We also believe the Club should be concerned at the fact that 19%, almost one-fifth, of season ticket holders have not been able to make one or more of the opening six league games of the season.

And so felt that you were giving an inaccurate version of events.

To get face value for the ticket you have to set the list price as slightly above face vale due to the fees etc. So isn't always the fans fault or their greed the motivation, for selling tickets above face value. I have ended up with a loss on my last two tickets (inc the MAN City game) because I made the list price the same as face value, but it does make you feel a bit bitter when you're hard up and see other making lots of profit on some games!

I supplied the last two tickets on StubHub for slightly less than face value, meaning I have a loss. But I'm saving up for a house etc at the moment and getting that extra £75 for an Arsenal ticket

I am amazed by all these tales of altruism. If people buy a ticket for a comedian or a band, and couldn't attend, they'd hope to get something back, be chuffed if they got FV.

But somehow a Spurs ticket is different o_O

That first bit was from an unfinished post...not sure what it was still doing there....

I don't think my stating a fact in regards to what I charged for a ticket can automatically be interpreted as altruistic to try and make a point, I did it because it's thye decent thing to do not for an overwhelming concern for others or because i experienced a pang of selflessness...

Is it allowed to buy for friends and family? Don't they have to be listed as members? Admin at stubhub are arrogant to say the least. I am a bronze member, have a couple of friends who are also bronze members and their admin people won't entertain my request for 2 tickets v the ars because they are saying that Tottenham Hotspur have only given them persmission to sell tickets to One Hotspur Members!! When I forwarded their email with such statement to the Members office at Tottenham, Kay at the office asked them to entertain all MEMBERS equally. Till now Stubhub have not come back. Also this is discriminatory on 2 fronts; one because they differentiating between levels of memberships and two because Malta is not on the Stubhub system. How bloody unsportsmanship and amateurish could they get. I am thinking of taking the mater further on a different legal level and am consulting my lawyer.

My point is, that ST sellers seem to fall into two camps. The silent ones who screw over fans, and the ones that have done the decent thing - and they simply are not representative.

In a strange quirk of fate, I can't actually go to the City game now!

I have listed my ticket on there...just in case anybody is interested in going. Its below face value ( that includes all the other fees etc, as I say, I'm a man of my word lol )

The tickets I purchased on Stubhub had no restrictions and I did not need membership numbers to be allowed to purchase. For the Man Utd game it was different and tickets were only available on Stubhub to Spurs members.

Supply - meet demand.

Supply and demand has resulted in illegal ticket touting for years though so it's not quite that simple. The club and Stubhub don't like it if you supply tickets outside the ground on a match day though, that's for sure.

South American drug lords are happy to supply class A drugs because of the demand, does that make it ok? Ok so thats an extreme example  but there are many legitimate complaints about this new system, the other Stubhub thread has quite a lengthy debate.

I understand that some supporters aren't rip off merchants and I don't mind when they advertise their ticket for sale for an extra tenner and then stubhub get their cut but im looking to go to the arsenal game and the cheapest ticket is £149.50 and the most expensive £920!!!!

Seriously, **** off. If I am to buy flights a train ticket and the cheapest match ticket as well as food and a couple of beers then im talking:

Flight: £100
trains: £20
Food and drink: £30
CHEAPEST TICKET: £150

At least £300 to go to a game is taking the piss. Its ripping off normal fans like myself. Why aren't there caps on the cost of stubhub tickets, it is down to spurs to sort that out.

I'm thinking about buying a ticket for the City game; there are tons on there and some for only slightly more than FV (probably to account for the fees), which I am comfortable with.

However, a quick question for anybody who has used the system, I heard horror stories at the start of the season about people queuing for hours to get their tickets from the ground and missing the match. Has this improved? Any recommendations or tips?

Nobody had any issues picking up the tickets recently?
